Sounds like you got everything under control. Don't follow the manuals to the letter. Unless you have deep pockets. I see them scrap the engines if the rear main seal leaks. I also seen complete Dana 60 axles in the scrap because the rotors were scored or the tie rod ends had egged the hole out...
If you have a CUCV truck with a 1/2 ton rear you have been duped. The trucks has 14 bolt FF rears. The Blazers M1009's have 10 bolt cooperate rears. 3:08 is the correct gears. If you want to drive down to exit 90 in Pennsylvania I will sell you a good rear axle complete from an M1009.
They make new ones. They are Felpro gaskets.About $3. i can get you the number tomorrow. Never hurt anything if a piece of that did fall down inside the intake.
They are just cables. i have been keeping everyone I can get my hands on. i made a few sets with a swagging tool. But that was when I could not find any others. I think the Dormans are warranted. Give them a try. They seem to hold up well. Like I said. I have used imports that other people gave...
I was out in the woods today and skidded a few logs from the edge of a mud hole where a logging company left them lay. They rolled into the mud and were off the trail onto a friends property. He said if I wanted them i had to come get them. We made it the goal today to have it done by 1PM. Goal...
Just change the filter. No need to change the O rings and seals. Get the engine warmed up. Shut it off. Pull the red/pink wire from the top of the injection pump. Remove the old filter. Snap the new one in place. Have someone else crank the engine over and bleed the air out the top of the filter...
Going out to work. This is my last day of vacation. i spent 3 days cleaning out a garage bay that was full of misc parts. I found many things that I don't know what they are. Many things that I didn't know I had. Many things I am sure I will never need. And many things that went out on the scrap...
In Pennsylvania. We put the trash out by the curb every Friday and a man/men come in a big loud diesel truck with a compacter and pick it up. Do you try to recycle it in your fuel tank? Interesting. Do they have big trucks like that down by the river?Happy Holidays. How's the canoe Rental business?
My Mule done that buzzing chattering release sound ever since I rebuilt it. It is just the nature of the beast. if I change the relay it may not do it. I put that relay on in 006 and it still works. I think load testing the batteries will still remain the standard. But yes new high amp batteries...
Wait. You are supposed to change rubber brake hoses every 5 to 10 years? I live in Pennsylvania and we have strict safety inspections. All vehicles must be inspected annually. The only way we replace brake hoses is if they are cracked, frayed or leaking. Most times on my own vehicles. I just...
No shotgunning here. The fact is he has a bad starter , a bad relay, or weak /bad batteries. That is rifle accuracy. Not much that was not covered in hundreds of other posts. Nothing different about a CUCV then a standard vehicle. If it has low voltage/amperage or a bad relay or starter it will...
I think you have a bad starter my friend. Please check the voltage of the batteries and have both batteries load tested individually. You need a strong set of batteries to get the truck started. I would be willing to guess the drain is on the front battery alone. That is what 99% of the truck...
National 2081 is the rear drum seal. It is a full float GM 14 bolt cooperate rear axle. You can also get the axle flange seals. I do not have that number in memory. Happy Holidays.
Acidic anti-freeze does have a tendency to eat its way thru thin steel gaskets and brass radiators. I have been using the Dex-Cool in everything since GM came out with it. It seems to be easier on metals. Happy Holidays.
Do you have the old inner fender? If NOT just use fender washers. That inner support is not needed unless you plan on air dropping the vehicle. Just make sure you have the upper supports correctly attached. I have changed many inner fender aprons and have had no failures if everything else is in...
