That IS correct. The gears for the sprag TC front output are 21T to 34T but should be 22:33 if we wanted equal ratio, front/rear. Pic below shows the parts in question.
Now, if both sprags were replaced with a solid 1pc splined hub and the clutch collar shifted to engage that large 34T-gear...
LOL... guess he wanted a lever....??
One has to keep in mind that the -27 airshift is NOT sealed where the shaft goes through the housing wall. Also the short distance to the crossmember directly in front can be a problem to attach some kind of clevis to the -27's shift shaft end.
The...
After next trip, spray everything as clean and dry as possible and do another short run. Then pull the transmission and try to follow the oil traces. If its running down the bellhousing, behind the flywheel then the next step is doing what Ted suggested. With that black oil over clean surfaces...
Well, the original bolts actually are 10-1/4" for the 1/2", and 10-1/2" for the 5/8", respectively. But not always that easy to find...
For better looks you can always shorten them, or install a second lifting bracket, underneath the bumper...;)

Q: .... just went in with finger pressure and you installed it with no sealant...?:?
I don't recall any of my main seals to ever fit that loose. In your case the smallest deformation will cause it to leak! Maybe not as much as you described, but still...
Also to keep in mind: the seal carrier...
LH......? You mean the gear case on the driver's side, or the clutch housing, on the pass. side (= your left when standing in front of the truck and reading the dataplates)...?
Drag brake handle, what is that? There is a small handle, for the drum lock and a lever for the clutch (which could...
Me too; wishing I had one (#161-9068 ) on hand to take some measurements... Googled the net up and down trying to find any specs, but no luck so far.:-(
Attached is a small drawing with all relevant dims. for the 2.5ton MF flywheel, to start with something at least.
Also; first soldier with...
:ditto:.... if you meant to say: ....put the clamp in the boot's groove...;-)
Yes, that's the "one-soldier" method: gradually work the boot lip into the (lubed) knuckle groove, with the clamp already on and "semi-tight".

No, I was just thinking ahead when I said 14"...
For the 2.5ton MF it still is a 13" PP with the popular 5-pad disk, 13"nominal.
Measured over pads it actually has 12-5/8" O.D. and 8-1/4" I.D. = 72 sq in swept area. Compared to other mid-size truck applications this is not really...
Both engines come with a (nominal) 17" flywheel (ring gear O.D. = 17.5"), depending application. Everything else looks different, though.
According to the book, only A3's coming with the AT-545 transmission have a real flywheel (#161-9068, pics below) which I think could be drilled to accept a...
Clint: your brackets /frame extensions are of the "welded" version.
To gain clearance you (and others) may consider this other option before touching the steering box.....

Agree 100%. A good piece of forged/ tempered AL would perform well and prolly last forever.
Still wondering if this (the OP's) AL handle was a "prehistoric" version of some kind...?
moriboy: is there a dataplate telling who the (re)manufacturer was??
Any other visual differences?
