Thank you for putting the pictures in the post! [thumbzup] I have looked at lots of older SS posts with picture links that are dead and the pictures are lost to us.
I particularly like the shot driving down the road. For reasons I can't explain, that picture is just plain cool..:p
Cheers....R
That machine turned out to be the M84 mortar carrier version, and as of last November it has belonged to a buddy of mine. The attached picture shows it the day it arrived at his place, and minutes before that offending "cannon" was torched off. It had been reattached by the previous owner...
The covers came from Niagara Military Parts, they advertise in Supply Line. Pawnshop and I did a combined order.
The tarps were described as "very nice condition", this translated to brand new still in the plastic bags! One side is green, the other is 383 3-colour camo, which worked out...
No, if anything it is the other way around, the B-1 is a much older plane with concept design starting in the late 60's, first hardware flown early 70's. The Tu-160 is also a lot bigger.
Cheers
Nice pictures indeed!
An interesting (well, to me anyway) side note - variable geometry bombers intercepted by variable geometry fighters. (variable geometry as in swing-wing).

Thanks fellas! It is good to get encouragement when you feel that the glacier is so slow it isn't moving.
Getting all the seals in around the engine bay now so the air flows correctly for cooling.
Then the next chore is getting the shifter linkage adjusted. Adjust, drive, try to shift, stop...
Good idea to switch what y'all each have that the other needs. [thumbzup]
Anyone else want to trade their newer style light brackets (for the composite lights) for my older style ones? Since I tow my M416 behind a 1009, I'm most definitely post-Vietnam style.
Cheers
While the spacers look like they might allow wiggle, they do not. I gave them a good shake today, they are in fact very stable.
Since I am putting the bigger lights on mine too (not LEDs though) I will use the same spacer set up.
Cheers
I know that truck! Good catch Justin! :jumpin:
When I bought my M813 from there many years ago, yours was parked next to it. I drooled over it, but at the time it was not for sale. The first thing I noticed different about it was the low set headlights.
It has been kept indoors most of the...
The M810 was actually a chassis/cab, the short 167" wheelbase version, so you could put what you wanted on the back.
The M817 dump truck and M818 tractor were "standard" vehicles on that chassis, but I have heard of generators and such being put on there.
Opcom recently built basically what...
The 5-tons do it too. That was one of my chores Sunday, checking/tightening the bolts. Only a few were loose at all, but there are regularly some.
I figured it out a couple of years ago when I had just enough grease thrown onto the wheel to notice, but not enough on the hub to notice the...
The M1009 pintle rotates also, and I have yet to get where I am going towing my 416 without the pintle being significantly off vertical when I arrive. It doesn't seem to cause any issues, and the worst off-roading I do with the combo is in the field where I park my stuff on the farm.
Mr G, as...
 I was really looking forward to the weekend, meeting the folks I only know by screen names, seeing the ones I do know and having a good chat with all of yez. Very disappointed. I know Scott/Reloader is too, he and I were going to convoy up together.
Work reeeeeeeally cuts into my play...
I must also respectfully, and unhappily, bow out. :(
Work has just decided that they need my Saturday more than I do, and since they are the ones who provide the paycheque...
Nofear- since I committed to this and am cancelling late, let me know what my share of the fee is and I will send it...
Since I am a tech-tard, I do what Sarge taught me. Open a picture in paint, under "Image" on the toolbar use "Stretch/Skew" and reduce the image to the percentage needed to make it around 100kb when saved. Very quick and easy (essential for me).
We'd love to see your vehicles 'in action'.
Cheers
Looks very nice!
Would you consider posting your actual pictures, rather than links? The reason being that after a while most of these links die and we lose the pictures (look in some older threads and you will see what I am talking about). It would be nice to preserve your pictures on the...
After a hiatus, the glacier moves. Working on it again.
These pictures show the floor panels, transmission/t-case cover, etc. getting fitted and having their attachment hardware aligned and installed.
The long piece on the floor in picture two is the cover that goes along the edge of the...
Doesn't that just confuse things! :D
Even with the air cleaner moved though, you should still be able to tell the difference between the M809 series and the M54 and it's family by the hood and front grill. The M54 et al have a shorter hood and flat (ala Deuce) grill, the M809 series have a...
Welcome back Jeff!
My project is still struggling along at the rate of a speeding glacier, but I am getting there. Soon!
Driver, far left is "Unexpected", second from right is "The Grim Reaper". There are some decent individual pictures of those two in post 35 on this thread.
Still haven't...
