Oil Pressure has left the building.

Good job. It just gave you the opportunity to do some extra maintenance that would have needed done anyway. And Life is Grand. Retirement is coming soon. I look forward to it. Have a great day.

    CUCV Long Term storage container

Crazy. That is a lot of work. I think a nice dry garage and a truck cover serves better and is easier to access. My friend has several Mustangs and a couple other classic cars and an electronic sound ray??? That and keeping the place clean seems to deter any damage. He has a nice CUCV M1008 also...

Windshield wiper parking problem?? More unusual that your average case!

:-D On a nice clean, pristine truck it worth your while to remove the hood. Makes life easier for both you and the truck. Hanging forward out over the brush guard is not my idea of working smarter. Just sayin. When that hood is off a true enthusiast will find about 2 dozen things to clean, and...

    M1009 Random starting issue

It could be the glow plug relay at the master cylinder. It may have some slag or corrosion build up on the contacts and it will only effect it occasionally. When it happens check for voltage coming from the stud going to the glow plugs. Of course I am assuming the wiring has not been hacked and...

Picked up my M1010. Road trip pics!

You can get a new drive shaft or re-tube the old one. That may be the quickest fix. Finding one at a scrap yard may be tough. I have taken a few M1010's apart and used them for plow trucks. The ones I had were in about the same shape you are showing but the wires were cut and melted on a few. I...

    Easter find M1008 2015

Tonight I pressed the front axle U joints from the axles. The one side was locked up. But the U Joint press and the cordless impact made short work of that stubborn joint. I have new ones from the zone to install. i will grease the yokes good and press them back in the opposite of taking them...

    CUCV Long Term storage container

A barn isn't bad if you don't mine mice damage and droppings everywhere. I don't have no stinkin mices. I have El Gato to take care of the mices/misis . Not mush in a CUCV for the misis to live off of. But traps and cats keep the mice away. Well I guess maybe 1 could get thru. Maybe. Good Luck...

Bought my first CUCV M1009, need radiator

Just make sure you open the box and check the radiator thoroughly for damage before you leave the store. Do NOT accept one that has any damage. I have bought several and have had to wait a bit to get a damage free one. And I went the Amazon way twice and that was worse. They were dropping them...

    Cucv Glow Plugs and Wiring

I have had the harness apart. The green wires are tapped into each other on both sides. I removed the loom and un-taped the harness and did a few repairs in the past. They are easy top repair and replace wires as needed. Stay with the same color and you will keep it simple. Good luck. If you...

Bought my first CUCV M1009, need radiator

My personal preference is the Harrison OEM plastic and aluminum radiator. They went top the plastic aluminum 4 core after they dis continued the copper brass GM. But the old tried and true brass and copper are fine also. I have a few of the OEM ones that did not leak but I replaced them during...

    CUCV Long Term storage container

That would be much better then a shipping container. A barn works really well also. The dust and air do a good job of preserving things. Of course a climate controlled storage unit would be the best. They have them near my home for $195. per month to store an MG midget in. The one that a CUCV...

Broken Axle - Outback ( way outback )

For once I truly agree. This is like a reality TV show. I am glad the engine did not fail. Imagine that changing an engine in the field. Axles and engines and transmissions. OH MY. There's no place like home.

Bought my first CUCV M1009, need radiator

The Autozone ones are great radiators. I have installed a few dozen of them. What makes a radiator look like junk? It either cools the engine and holds the coolant or it over heats the engine and leaks. it is not a cosmetic item. I have several that I have had in use for many(10) years and have...

    Tailgate Replacement Question (M1009)

Well I am fortunate to have access to the latest and greatest welders and materials. I have the 12 Gauge galvaneal sheared to exact length and width and then just trim it to fit the jam areas on the end and weld it up. It makes for massive improvements in strength and prevents the twisting and...

    Tailgate Replacement Question (M1009)

I need to send you my miracle rubber track that I used to replace the side track felts on a few units. It works great. Let me know and check out my thread. It shows how to rebuild the gate, side tracks and get the bottom sash cleaned and polished.

    Tailgate Replacement Question (M1009)

I added it to the outside up top. Check out my Terminus M1009 Thread. The piece runs across the entire top of the gate. I stitch welded it in the jam and on the face. I sanded, primed and painted it. it added an amazing amount of strength. I have done the same to the bottom rust out area and...

PA - Fall 2016 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

17 days and a wake up. Do you have your vehicle ready? Leave all the whine at home and bring a vehicle that can get scratched, used and abused a bit. No trailer queens. I am going to stay out of the deep water. This seems to be my weak point. I have Terminus M1009 all ready. Do you have yours...

Broken Axle - Outback ( way outback )

They would probably turbo the engine and repaint it right on the spot. And that would just be the first episode.
