Crawl back there and get the cover off. You can trick the handle into opening the gate and then make working on it mush easier. I am not sure what is preventing it from going down. But possibly the bottom glass sash is that rusty and pitted that it is catching on the side window channels. But I...
:popcorn:Use C4 it will clear a big enough trail. So a Razor can't make it but a dually Chevy can? I have access to a Kubota side by side and am sure I can go places a Chevy dually will never go. And it has a dump bed on it and carries 4 people and 800 lbs. in the back. :tank:This story needs a...
I would sure hope this CUCV M1009 break down has been resolved by now. The vehicle could have been completely dis assembled carried out to the interstate and reassembled in the time spent figuring out how to replace a broken C clip axle. It could not have been more dramatic unless it broke down...
I am not aware of a how to install guide other then the manuals. Can you clarify what the issue is and that would give me a place to start? Does the lock unlock and lock on the handle? Does the window move at all?
Pictures are also helpful to help you out. It is fairly simple and crude by todays...
That is a tough question to answer site unseen. The M1009 tailgate is a very complex /crude design and has many failure points in play. It could be a bad driver assembly or a regulator and possibly the clutch is bad or the pawl is not engaging properly. Very hard to answer the statement the...
I would double check the 30 amp fuse on the right side of the fuse box mid way up. They are known for getting loose connections and making the fuse hot and weakening the fuse connections.
That broken pivot area you are showing can be double plied on the front side as can the adjustment slots. I use a flat washer on the back side at the lower pivot stud and have doubled the slotted area on the front side. It added strength to mine. I still have one to do repairs on. I will post...
This is exactly my thoughts. This is what I had to do to Terminus M1009. That is why it was junked. Just a broken axle and both axles were removed to get the one out. I string was attached to a clean rag and drug though both tubes. And the both are of the center was mopped clean of debris. good...
Do NOT use the starter bolts over. Get new ones. They are Metric M10 X 1.50 thread. Do NOT use 3/8" standard bolts they will go in and seem to get tight but they are not tight. Make sure the support bracket is secured tightly to the body of the starter motor. And tighten the M8 bolt in the...
Flex them cooler lines and get them out of the way. Get that cover out of your way. That engine has terrific compression. You will need a full turn area to work in..
5 days of rain have slowed the progress a wee bit. That di not stop me from doing other much needed work. The frame has been painted top and bottom. it held up well in the pouring rain. I have a couple other frames I may just take and clean and paint and store for my retirement funds. Then again...
You ask to see. I have it full of wheels and the inside was not visible from the rear. The A/C unit inside is blocked off with wheels. PM me if you want more information on it.
Yes it can be welded. They are hard to find. How hard i am not sure. they are a discontinued GM part and the last I checked they have been out of the system. They can be welded and improve on. That has been done before. I still remember buying them for less then $15. from GM. But fix what you...
I have done it for a customer. But it did not last long. The used power regulator crapped out and the new one was not GM and it lasted about a year. I ended up converting it back to crank. I still have power front door regulators with motors from the same job. The guy ended up crashing the M1009...
The picture at the bottom shows a clutch on the window crank. The clutch fits over the winder on the regulator and the locking pawl is spring loaded in the handle and engages the clutch when the window crank is unlocked and disengages the clutch when the window crank is locked. The driver and...
