Can we just pull the carrier out of a rear differential and put it in the front to get true four wheel drive? If your rear axle does not act like it is pulling with both tires, sometimes a quick tap of the brakes under load will kick the locker into driving both rear tires. They are not nearly...
I remember reading that description and looking that truck over. I would love to have one like it. The XM818 must be an early model? I never really knew what the X meant. Looks like a nice one to me! Glen
I think you are talking about the hose from the filter to injection pump. The hose on the lift pump is under the pump, which sits in a cup at the corner of the frame and cross member, behind the lower radiator hose and ahead of the right engine mount. Glen
I usually unplug the injection pump and have somebody bump the starter while I hold the rod up in the hole to catch it when it is all the way off the lobe. You are correct, that is a miserable place to work. Make sure you attach the lower fuel line before installing the pump as they are almost...
That appears to be a very nice truck! I have a buddy with a four door Mog, it just makes me sick! Oh well... He wants to sell it, but it is beyond my means right now. The way those things move around off road is unreal, but that is what they are known for. It would look great in my driveway...
Are they blending fuel there already? The winter blended fuel does not have as much energy as good old #2 diesel. It would be early for us, but your area might be subject to much colder temperatures, much earlier in the year than we are. I have been getting #2 at the local CO-OP as they do not...
Yep! Better go out and stir up some dust! We have some roads around here that would take good care of that sheen.... Very nice looking truck, I wish it could join my three!
If it gets bound up, generally it is because the drive train has a load on it. Turning while in four wheel drive or having a taller tire or under inflated tire on a surface that gives good traction can really preload the drive line. If you find it difficult to shift, rolling backwards while...
I paid over 4000 for one of mine and ^^^^he is looking pretty smart!^^^^
That being said, it runs great and has been very reliable. A fuel pump and a fuel filter base, some rubber lines, maybe 120 bucks. Glen
Did anybody here win the M109 or the M35a2 out of Ft. Riley today? They originally were listed in Wichita and the had the descriptions and photos backwards. The 35 had a make shift plywood box and did not look too bad otherwise. The M109 had a bent left fender, mirror bracket and probably door...
Thanks, I quit posting day trips for a few months, we continue to run all over the area. I have one dog that is pretty testy, really defensive of what is his, so the remote places are best for us. I also enjoy digging up the history of some of these off the wall locations.
A friend of mine...
Our local pump shop says he cannot tell any difference in pump failures since the LSDF came out. He recommends just adding a few ounces of Marvel Mystery oil as cheap insurance, if you are concerned about it. He was originally on the pumps will fail earlier boat, but he admits he has not noticed...
Since the spring is north of Junction City, I could pick you up and run you up there. There is a nearby set of springs I want to look for as well. I have Tuesday and Wednesday off this month, I think I go to weekends next month. I almost always have my trusty sidekick, Buddy along. A little...
Driving a Lincoln, following a Hummer, and talking on her cell phone. I am betting the Chevy was looking pretty big in her peripheral vision.
My M1008 is quieter on the fast idle than that M1009 is rolling down the street in the heat. I think it must be in the timing setting on the pumps. At...
Our local Rhino dealer has been stripping down Jeeps and Blazers and spraying inside the tub, the bottom of the tub and about half way up the outside. He is really good at matching paint colors, not sure what is plan would be for a CARC painted truck. I am willing to bet those Jeeps he did will...
