    M1078a1 battery connection diagram help

Dont forget the slave receptical:)… They branched the 28V line to the slave receptical off of the disconnect sw and they split the output of the disconnect relay 28 to the starter and LBCD. On the A0 all 3 of those lines run to battery +28V…. My A0 had 6 leads total into the battery box. I...

    M1078a1 battery connection diagram help

The A1 moved some connections used in the A0 from the battery box to the A1 switch box. The single wire toward the cab is probably the main ground to the starter. The 3 wires to the switch box are probably ground for the slave connections and 12 and 24 to the manual disconnect.

winch: hydraulic motor maintenance / repair

Little thing on top of the gear case just outboard of the spool release lever? It is called a relief(part#13 on the 24P exploded diagram), it may be a vent for the gear case housing. I have not seen a spec for servicing the gear case, I am not sure how it is lubricated, but if you had a shaft...

    M1078a1 battery connection diagram help

The A1 and A1R are wired the same. You can find an A1 schematic in the manuals section here on SS. in the end pretty basic: 2 grounds a 12 and a 24 cable… One ground goes to the starter neg terminal(front of starter case). A second ground goes to the slave-jumpstart connector. One 12V goes...

Coolant Sensors and Switches: "Thermal Resistor"

4 temp sensors on an A0. 1. As mentioned for the ether system on the 1” crossover pipe that runs across and down to the trans cooler/heatexchanger. the information on this switch is conflicting, mine opens at 35F, so no ether above that temp. 2 For fan control, located on the upper radiator...

    Fan Clutch Solenoid Aftermarket Replacement

Actually you want restriction if any on the outlet/vent port, and personally I don’t think it needs it. Remember the fan works inverse. It applies air to release the clutch. Like driving a manual, you want to release the clutch quickly by stepping quickly on the pedal(applying air). And you...

    Huck bolt removal tool

I got on for the lugs as well. Works great, but it is a 1” drive and I didnt have a 1”drive socket that fit the hucks or a 1”-1/2” adapter…

    Huck bolt removal tool

I was going to try that up in the lift structure frame, but I didn't have the adapter/socket combination I needed to employ my multiplier. I did find, since it was dam difficult to cut them all off perpendicular in that lift channel, that any cut down thru the outer collar loosened its grip on...

    Huck bolt removal tool

We shouldn't even call them bolts. Huck rivets would be more appropriate IMO…:)

    Winch install question/issue

Either this guide is to push/pull the cable to a certain position to get it to clear an obstruction, or it is there to keep it from sagging. At any rate, I would try and position it so it keeps the cable as close as possible to its tensioned line of travel. If it is pushing the cable out of...

    Brakes won't release...

Park brake works in reverse. A capped emer glad-hand can keep you from setting the park brake, not releasing it. You could have a leak or a anti-compounding valve issue. Or a rusted brake shoe… The proper way to delete the front glad-hands is to bypass/remove the 3 two-way valves under the...

    2009 Lmtv M1078A1 Charging System

Yea the plugs he is referring to are under/behind the instrument panel. If you loosen the knob and raise/tilt the steering wheel as far up and back as it will go, you should be able to remove all the panel bolts and raise the top enough to access the wiring harness. You are looking for some...

    M1078 Purges tires

The purge valve in the center of the truck beside the transmission is for the front axle. it will drain any air leaked from the wheel valves. i suspect you have already fixed this, as this sounds like another issue I commented on over on the FB group. A restriction in the line, in this case...

    CTIS and Arduino

Oh ye Yes, Christians arduino based controller should work on any truck, same as the manual approach, as the original controllers used the same PCU control and pressure sensor pinouts on that cannon plug H is 28V, F is ground. R, B & C(to F) are the 3 solenoids. b,c & j are the PCU pressure...

    CTIS and Arduino

Well from the A1 schematic, it shows 3 possible power feeds(H,M & Z). With 3 feed points, you could control up to 7 different program responses/configurations. If they kept pin H as a constant, as it seems to be shown as connected in all the info I have, you could switch between 4 different...

    2009 Lmtv M1078A1 Charging System

No LED on the regulator means it isnt being told to come online(or broke). With the cab up and engine running, do you have 24v on the 24v alt output terminal? if so you can use a jumper wire to apply 24v from the 24v terminal to the EXC screw terminal on the regulator. The exc terminal is the...
