    Is this a V-100

Wow! Beautiful restoration, bravo sir! That must be the rarest of the rare, with the square wheel wells, early turret, etc. Very cool to see it brought back to life. Cheers

Which Corner location is the right one?

What I found on my 5-ton was the problem with putting them in the higher hole is the tarp is much more taut there and will rub, and wear, on the bolt more. On the lower hole the tarp sides are loose enough to not wear on the bolt. There's my 2cents Cheers

I would like to thank the DOD, The US Army, and lastly...

Naw, just come on out. Several of our members don't even own MV's. Those that do have vehicles from WW1 bicycles on up. Its a relaxed group and we are in it for the fun. Cheers

Hi Lisa, welcome aboard. There are quite a few of us in both Austin and San Antonio, PM me with some details of when and what, and we'll see what we can do to help you. Cheers

4.4 miles per gallon? Is that right???

Like Chris' experience, mine averages around 7mpg. That is with the cargo cover and 14.00s. Towing the M105 I don't see any difference in mileage, the truck pretty much ignores it being there. Since mine is a toy, the only real load I have carried is five pallets of water, no change in...

New (to me) Bobbed Deuce in Austin TX

If you want to go back to the stock configuration, I know someone nearby who will probably have all the parts. Got your PM, sent you one back. Cheers

New (to me) Bobbed Deuce in Austin TX

    New MV owner from TX

Sounds like you are right next door to quite a few of us. I thought from the scenery in your video you were close by. Very nice jeep. Cheers

Texans: how long to get your Former MV plates?

A few years ago we picked up a deuce in Virginia (and it was everything you said it was Karl!), drove it over to Illinois and picked up an M1003, then drove everything down to Memphis Equipment. There we loaded them to the gills with parts, including an entire M813A1 bed, and drove back to...

    Isreali Defence force Jeep

Hawkman, your jeep looks great, good work. When I was a kid (mid-70s) I got a large picture book on the 1967 Six Day War. There were a lot of jeeps like yours in there, the Israelis must have had a bunch of them. They used a bunch of M3 halftracks too. All the vehicles had that black edged...

    Wheels on M35A3

As described above, it is CTIS. You will also see it on FMTVs, 900 series 5-tons and several other types of MVs. The big triangular plate covers the hoses etc. and protects them from damage. If you look closely at the attached picture, you will also see a small counter weight bolted to the...

    IR lights conversion?

I took the pictures of the single light housing, but forgot to post them. Doh! They are now attached to my post above. Cheers

Texans: how long to get your Former MV plates?

I will second the polite bit! Being polite and pleasant, and confident, with the folks in the tax office, along with being prepared with ALL the necessary documents, goes a long way toward getting what you want. The first time I dealt with titling/registering one of these was my Unimog...

Texans: how long to get your Former MV plates?

Ditto to what Pawnshop said, he does know what he is talking about. You can use ANY number/letter combo on the vehicle so long as the letters/numerals are at least 2" high and in a "contrasting colour". Including "TP 50" if the mood strikes you. Most counties will give you the window sticker...

    IR lights conversion?

Here are some pictures of the inside of one of the twin light housings. These are generic and can be seen on a selection of vehicles including V100s, M60 tanks, and I think old LVTP-7s (now called AAAAAAAAAAV or something..), etc. IR and clear lenses are seen in all combinations from one IR...

    IR lights conversion?

Just to clarify- the housings will take either the IR dark lens or a clear one, you can swap them out as Jimm1009 described. The regular bulbs sit behind the outer lens and are the same for both type of light. The clear/IR lenses are the same in the single and double armour headlights. They...

Zombie attack at the Flying F

Rudy's brisket and turkey... mmmmmm......!:drool::drool::drool: The last movie was paid in food, drinks and empty promises. Maybe for the current one we will insist on a Rudy's premium for the pick up shots we are due to film next week.. Cheers

Nope, different folks altogether. Never heard back from that twit. These guys were pleasantly professional. Cheers

Zombie attack at the Flying F

Patience lad!! Actually, since I am on dinosaur dialup (yeah, I know, i know...), I have to "block out" the second window with something short to keep the first two posts together, then go back and add the text and pictures. Cheers
