One roadblock is set up next to a big dusty hole in the ground that used to be my pond (). It has been a hot, dry summer.
Jeff seems to have something about cameras being pointed at him.

Well, not real zombies but movie zombies.
SS members Sarge, Jeff L and I own adjoining properties in the boonies outside Austin, and we refer to said place collectively as "The Flying F". Because of the buildings and general appearance of the place, and the vehicles we own, a couple of indie...
I will second that. My M813 came from one of the museum members several years ago, went there to make the deal and again to pick it up. Nice facility, an excellent collection, and a great bunch of folks to have a chat with. I've made several trips back since then.
Cheers
Welcome aboard Mr Six. The Texas contingent is getting pretty big!
Buckmaw, I seem to have missed noticing you before now, you are very close by. Welcome aboard to you too.
Cheers
Actually a Dunlop Ranger. All the rest on it are Goodyear Wranglers.
With the window loss experiences mentioned, I do consider myself lucky on this one.

Yessir! But after seeing that, all the tires it is sitting on are being replaced before it goes on the road again.
Over cautious? Yes, perhaps, but my daughter loves to drive that truck, and other people's families share the road.....
Cheers
Since Sarge has the best of intentions but will never post this, I will.
A couple of days ago Sarge got stopped in his M1009 by Williamson Co SO. The deputy said he had seen Sarge driving the M1009 around a couple of times and wondered if all was kosher (cops get paid to be curious).
Sarge...
I've never seen this before.
I noticed that the spare in my M1009 looked a bit odd, rolled down the back window and found that the tire had actually blown out. This happened while the truck was parked with the tire in it's rack. No previous indications that anything was wrong with the tire, it...
With Michelin XL's on the truck I run 60 psi in the front, since that is what the Marines stenciled on the fender. I figure they did the research, and it works very well for me, so I go with their recommendation.
I understand that the Goodyear style 14.00s run at a slightly higher pressure...
Stalwart, congratulations on getting your Hemtt. Looking at your signature line I see lots of other neat stuff that started the , but of course the one that causes said drooling to become almost embarrassing is V100! If you would care to post a picture or two...or twelve.. of your V, I...
Have any of you who actually run these tires experienced the predicted power loss when carrying/hauling a real load? By that I mean hauling something like a Deuce or a larger trailer, rather than a 105.
How about problems when shifting, particularly the 'big gap' shifts? I am wondering at the...
Karl, in the summer I run 60psi in the front tires and 50 in the back. That works nicely in Texas where the tires heat up quite a bit on the road. In winter I bump them all up 5psi more. That is for empty or lightly loaded on Michelin XL's, gives good control without wandering, but doesn't...
The one on the right front does have a Swiss bed and toolbox, but looks like a German-style truck otherwise. There are a lot of detail differences between them.
The good news is that you wouldn't have to buy a Swiss cab cover for that one (read- expensive). To put a German style cover on a...
Old trucks can definitely bite you!
Ks, no, I haven't found the seatbelt setup yet, still looking. I did get a cab strengthening plate from Dabtl though, that's a start.
Cheers
Rapco sells Gillespie paint by the gallon and in spray cans. He fills the spray cans from gallons (with a really cool machine!) so it all matches. The tan is referred to as 686, his seems accurate.
Just remember that after even a few weeks in the sun, paint on your vehicle will look different...
54reo, I will thank you again for the timely warning on the top hinges. Shortly after reading that, we got on top of the trailer and found the hinges were next best thing to gone, no way they could have supported the bat wings. Had we opened the sides, they would have parted company with the...
As of last week, I can actually say that I have seen a SKOT in person, while I was in Ireland. Couldn't get too near since it was behind a tall fence with lots of razor wire, privately owned and looked pretty grubby. They are indeed BIG. My cousin knows the guy who owns it and several other...
Personally, I think the V is the sexiest wheeled armour ever!
But that is just me..:-D
This one Patrick? The OT-64 SKOT.
Speed is listed as 58mph, but I don't know how long it takes to get there. It may be like my Mog which will do 60mph... eventually... if you are patient... and the...
