Is the cab and front fenders the same as a 800 series 5ton? If so why are the front wheels centered in the wheel well? Or better question, why is the 5ton stuff offset towards the front more?
wheel wells ar 40" long on the floor of the trailer. 39.5" from the front to the start of the wheel well and 30.5" from the back end of the wheel well to the tailgate
The ORV at randolph is really no place for a deuce. The trails in the bottoms are really tight and twisty. I have a hard time getting my civy TJ thru them with out getting smacked by tree branches if I have top off. It is a fun place to go watch the guys with big Jeeps and lots a $$$ play on...
Ive got that covered. My father-in-law is a truck driver and knows where to get that stuff.
A 280!! I wanted a big truck but not THAT big :-D
As far as the door, I prefer to keep it on the back end so when I use it for storage I can still access it without having to go thru the cab.
Put "M818 24volt to 12volt trailer lights" in the search bar.
I dont know how to post links but this thread has a nice write up on how to build an adapter so you can use both mil. and civy trailers
Does anyone here have the mounting plate that bolts into the back of a HMMWV that the S250 bolts to? There was a single lot on GL a few weeks back that had two but I missed bidding on it.
I had thought about using a M814 if I could affoard one. Since I cant and already have the 818 and a friend thats a very good welder (welder for Caterpiller work tools) I'm gonna go this route.
I thought about putting it sideways but I want to be able to connect the cab and box with an opening.
How hard is it to stretch a frame? Ive got an idea for a project Id like to try with my truck. It will have HEMTT wheels and 16's or maybe only 14's.
sorry its a really bad photoshop (actually its done with MS paint) but its all I got and done in like 10 min.
I have not seen and surplus cabs anywhere around here (local area to Ft Riley). There is another lot across the road with a whole bunch of 900 5tons with armored cabs but they are nothing like these cabs. Im guessing that since these are all over Iraq that these get shipped over there on the...
When I go out on wed. Ill get a better pic.
The box on the back is just a wooden crate strapped to the pallet with the cab, not part of the cab itself.
I'm asking in the 5ton area because I think these go on a 900 series truck.
Theres a bunch of them in a lot on Ft Riley near where they rebuild the trucks.
The tall squared off roof and the cut out for a gun ring has me curious.
There are a bunch of FMS trucks at Ft Riley, they are better than the GL trucks but not all of them have been referbished. On a side note, when I was out there last wed. DRMO was taking two very nice M816 wreckers off the line (with FMS tags in the windows) and loading them up on lowboys.
How long will the Rapco/Gilespie (sp?) hold up in the can if not used right away? Im the type that will get started on something, paint a few parts then get side tracked and it can be a long time before I get back to it, sometimes it can be years.
