No, we are now talking about 20x10" wheels and suggested backspace, as you had asked....
I'm saying that I took some of these 150 pound, heavy duty HEMTT wheels (aren't they considered surplus...?) and recentered them to dims. shown in that second drawing, to run 15.5s on a Deuce.

Even if it all came out of a Multifuel powered 5ton.... from looking at pics of the system I don't think that it would be a "practical" swap, much less a bolt-on operation. Since I don't have any 5tons around in my area I can't really say for sure how do-able it is or not, but for some reason it...
That depends on the wheel lip design of the choosen wheel. Say it was a HEMMT wheel; they are nominal 10" but rim width overall is 12.88", while the 20x11" rims in Q. only are 12.26" WOA. So in order to keep them "reversible" as well, backspace needs to be more like 8.7" in this case. It is...
LOL... thanks for your interest and compliments but....
..... I'm afraid you are the only potential buyer....: who would want to buy what would be such a wild compilation of so many different technical aspects of our toys .... IF WE HAVE THIS WONDERFUL STEELSOLDIERS FORUM, for...
I can understand that you want to replace the shaft seal and O-rings, and eventually the ball bearing (std #6203, sealed) also, but the vanes and other components? Is there that much wear? If so you may have to consider replacing the rotor and ring as well...
Anyways you could measure and...
Glad you solved at least part of all problems concerning your project!
Bearings and seals seem to be std.; they should be available online.
To all: guess we learned a lesson here: never fully trust the original dataplates and/ or stamped codes.... if it was (mil-) rebuilt :?

Bending rims??... I've built many wheels using rim shells from Longs (GKN W11-20, 5.7 - 6mm wall thickness, see first drawing); mounted 14.5s AND 395s on them.... I can asure they won't bend even if you used tire irons! (don't underestimate the power of a good lubricant - tire mounting, I...
Stay calm blackrock....: that is - or looks to be - the right pump, just as it comes out of the 5ton LDS465-1 & -1A engines!
And the way its plumbed there is no way that pump could work, other than with the "ring" in the "L" position. (... simply unscrew 4 bolts, pull cover and...
Put it to work......:-P
..... or disassemble and compare with the pics below:
Left side shows the ring in (correct) "L" position. That is, pump rotates CCW viewed from shaft end, as it would run in ANY Multifuel engine.
Right side is what you should find, according to the stamped code.

Very nice! That would help for sure if there was a sudden line burst.
Only problem I see is that in most cases we have a SLOW leak from a rotten hose or pitted cylinder, that goes un-noticed until enough fluid is lost for the MC to continue working.
G.
Are you sure that pump came from- or is for- a 5ton Multifuel engine?
If you look up the Vickers/Eaton catalog (attached, again) you will find there are X- many other variants and applications as well, just for the VTM42 series.
Anyways, I suspect that the rated "capacity" (= 4.0GPM) stays in...
Starter model# is MS 53011-2. Pinion should have 12 teeth. (better confirm before ordering!)

YES!
Passenger side oil level isn't critical; even after it stopped leaking (= all oil out) you still got enough lube into the sleeve bearings and around thrust washer plus all clutch components to safely operate the winch, for a test at least.

AHHH..... soooo! [thumbzup]
Will keep that in mind... (for when it comes to create the "ultimate" 2.5:1 LOW, 0.9:1 overdrive HIGH, W/ internal lockable diff.- TC for the Duece!:-)

To Autocar: YES!!!! :ditto:
That's the BEST explanation I've ever read here, about how it works, really!
To monster ford: you prob. know by now..... ?:-)

LOL... Ron, isn't this part of our hobby: sharing OLD info, adding NEW every day if possible and at the same time trying hard not to forget things faster than we can ever learn them.....!!!!!:-)
Seems that some folks here even forgot all about basic algebra...:p
(BTW: It amases me when I see...
