The main battery positive cable comes off the batteries and goes right to the starter solenoid. Power for most everything else branches off from there. There is no "protection" of any kind like a fuse or breaker. When you swap the starter you will want to disconnect the positive from the battery.
If you try to start the truck, and the starter solenoid engages but the starter does not spin, then your starter is bad. There are contacts inside the solenoid that close when the solenoid engages and "throws" the starter gear forward. The contacts go bad inside if you open it they will probably...
Sounds like malware. Some virus scans won't find it and it will embed itself in your registry. Sometimes you can go to msconfig and disable it from loading on boot up. A good anti malware software like malware bytes should find it. Sometimes it's very hard to remove.

No I don't have pressure build up in my cooling system even after running for some time. If I remember correctly the air compressor only has oil cooling lines not coolant. Have you taken hoses off and tried to peek into the radiator? I don't know what else would pressurize the coolant other than...
I have seen 5-tons with AC military installed and it appeared to have a stock electrical system. I can see a bit if power loss from the engine driving the compressor but the system should not draw enough power to cause electrical issues. I could see it bringing out issues like a weak alternator...
If it is overheating something is definitely wrong. The cooling system is much larger than that engine actually needs. Is coolant flowing? There are 2 thermostats it's possible if the system was gunked up they could both be stuck. How much overheating are we talking here? If the engine is...
That truck is super buried. I bet the interior and engine compartment are filled too. It needs to be trenched around and then hand dug out underneath the best it can be. You could try water too loosen things up but you may just make sandy slush and bury it deeper. Depending on how hard the dirt...
I couldn't find anyone local here in CT to rebuild 24v anything. There were a couple resellers online that had them new. I got a few from a member in Kansas I believe he has a truck parts yard. Also Jeff in sparta comes across the starters.

I prefer the relay. I use the trans switch to give the coil a ground and activate the relay. I have a dash switch that turns my reverse lights on with an upper rear floodlight also.
Anything is possible you can strip it down. They are usually in large block hand stamped numerals left to right. Some rebuilt trucks do not appear to have them.
