Not sure why you would need another thread, all you need is to look at the parts TM
It looks like you need #17, although the parts diagram seems to show a rubber hose going to the caliper, hopefully someone can clarify.
About the only thing you can do now is put some M-M oil in the glow plug holes, and wait for a while, put the glow plugs back in finger loose so no critters get in there while waiting.
For sure have him secure that alt in the seat (and any other items) or it will likely take a hike, possibly injuring someone along the way!
You were not likely going to be able to roll it off the carrier anyway as the rear "steering" is disconnected.
Boy they got this wrong in the brochure, tons of the M1097R1s with three speeds, one thing I did not know was, according to the brochure all non armored trucks were RECAPED to M1097R1s, explains why we don't see RECAPED M998s.
"HMMWV M1097R1 configuration
incorporates a four-speed, electronic...
I hate dealing with the public, I work on a few that belong to some ranchers around here only because they tracked me down and offered enough to make it worth my time.
Other than that everyone that lives on this planet's mind ain't right but for mineo_O
Good way to keep the average Joe from being able to buy one at auction, we are already competing with several businesses for the best ones.
Just kidding, knock yourself out!
But never take business advice from me, I take something that costs 10K put 20K in it and then it's worth about 15K

Does it still blow cold air?
The HMMWV never had electric fans.
The switch on the throttle was to put the fan control in delay so when you went into the water it did not rip the belt driven fan blades off, it may have also been designed to delay the fan when at WOT but never did that on my M998
You might want to pull the engine through two revolutions clockwise facing the front of the engine just to make sure it will not hydro, cheap insurance.
12oz is not ideal but not "out of bounds" for a tire that size, tell those guys to man up and get some bigger weights!
IIRC the max for the Centramatics was about 12-15oz so I could be running close to that without any wheel weights.
Does not matter how you get there, if you are running down the...
Not likely going to be a problem, as you already stated the biggest issue is the rotating mass getting into the fluid and whipping air into it, make sure you check the TC fluid to make sure you do not have the vampire thing going on (usually transfers fluid FROM the trans to the TC) of course...
It is hard to see because the OP did not post a picture that included the door at the striker location but it looks like the seal is touching the body at the door handle/striker, it just appears the door does not have the correct profile to fit a HMMWV body.
I have never seen a drain plug on any civilian light/med duty auto transmission, just about everything military has drain plugs, maybe those that don't were replacement transmissions?
