I pesonally would be a little leary of a $12 pyro from China. I'm thinking either the probe could break off and get eaten by the turbo or I'd burn up my engine because it's not accurate. It may be a good one but I wonder why name brand gauges sell for 10 times that much?
Here's a link to make...
CARNAC, My politics comment wasn't aimed at you. There are a few comments in this thread that could be considered politics NOT related to the hobby. I couldn't care less but I know the owners of the site don't like it and will delete the thread if it gets out of hand.
If people don't keep the politics out of this thread it will be deleted before long. ;)
I haven't been burned (very bad) by GL yet but I know a bunch of people that have. I know several people that used to buy a bunch of stuff that have been banned because they refuse to pay the unjustified...
While I have cut the race many times when all else fails, you need to be pretty experienced with a torch to do this. If you're not good with a torch don't try it. It is very easy to cut the spindle if you get too much heat on it or aren't easy enough on the trigger.
When trying to search click the "advanced search" link and search from there. That way you can narrow in down to individual forums and it seems like it works alot better that way.
If it's still not working post up and let us know so we can help you out. There are a bunch of threads on this...
If anybody needs one they have a heck of a price on deuce snatch blocks. I got one that looks like it had been in storage for about 100 years but it had never been used and works great.
I've heard people say that but I've got a push button switch that came in my A2 that has worked flawlessly for several years. That being said, if it does play out I'll more than likely go back with the 3-lever because of the cost difference in the two.
The radiation detectors are very sensitive at scrap yards. I've set them off with iron pipe that had been burried and picked up a little raydon from the earth and for some reason high heat furnaces can become radioactive. You will make the meter "jump" a little every time you go across the...
From talking to the owner of my local NAPA store, there are basicly two types of NAPA stores. There are ones that are independently owned and operated and ones that are basicly run by NAPA. The independent stores are by far the best because they deal in all brands of products and are not pushed...
I'll agree the people there will go out of their way to help you but it is frustrating with the appointments sometimes.
When Wreckerman posted it reminded of a pickup I made one time there. I knew he was going there that day and wanted to meet up with him. I called Teresa and asked for an...
Personally I would like the Huntsville option the best but that's only because it's closest to me.
I've always have wanted to make the GA rally but it seems I'm always busy that time of year (harvest time) and can't get away. I'll make it one of these days.
That's one thing I don't like about Redstone. At Ft. Campbell I have aways just showed up unannounced within their business hours and they will let me look or loadout. I even showed up one time when GL was closed ( hoping I could just look over the fence) and a guy with DRMO let me preview.
Wreckerman, There's a place like that near me. It's an old limestone mine turned into a big warehouse. I've been there before and when I was there there was nothing there but your usual boring warehouse stuff. A friend of mine was by there lately and now they have armed gaurds (with AR15s or...
There used to be an old shadetree trick we used to do with tractors that were jumping out of gear. We would pull out the shifting rails and weld the old detent hole up. If the detent hole is worn you could sometimes get by with redrilling the detent hole in the same spot but if you wanted to...
I've got a geared lugwrench but like Wreckerman, I don't use it because I've got a 1" impact .
It does sound like Ken Tool has some good customer service. Most places would just tell you that that model was obsolete and wouldn't go through the trouble to tell you what part may work or...
:ditto:
The EUC is for the event not the lot. You can buy 100 items in one event and you only have to fill out one EUC. The next time you buy something in another event you'll have to fill out another EUC though.
I agree but how are you going to get your item if another one is parked in front of it (as was the reason why the damaged truck was moved)?
If at all possible I won't let the GL yard guys touch my items. I winched the last M1008 I bought at Redstone onto my trailer with a come-a-long in the...
