    Restoration Questions - M35A3

The paint on the truck is the correct paint for the time period of the A3. No need to change the color if you're keeping it original.

Mico Brake Lever lock, Where to mount it ?

Just keep in mind that a line lock can leak off or you could develop a brake system leak and the truck can roll away. They work well and I've used them on alot of stuff but I don't depend on them to hold the brakes on for extended periods. It's best to chock the wheels also to make sure the...

I am going to look at my first Deuce on Sunday......

It's hard to say with neighbors. Some love MVs and some hate them. As far as the concrete goes, it all depends on what's underneath the slab. I've seen 4" concrete hold 80,000lb forklifts (in our shop) without so much as a crack and 8" concrete that fell apart with little more than small car...

    Hard top Price?

:ditto: If I buy a truck to sell I want a hard top (because that's what everybody seems to want) but if I buy a truck to keep I want a soft top. I bought a truck to resell a few months ago that had a brand new soft top on it. I had a hard top laying around off of a parts truck so I swapped...

    Question about trailer brakes

Yes, they do work quite well except when backing. While I'm not familiar with the M101 trailers, most surge brake systems have a way to lock it out while backing up.

    HOA booted the Deuce

:funny: I'd like to see somebody try and put a boot on a duece (if one would even fit). It would be funny to see somebody get in and just drive off.

GL Employee Damages My M1009 & Insists I Pick It Up

After enough calls and default fees they will more than likely void the sale and give you all your money back. I've seen this happen before and after a bunch of BS everybody I've heard of that wanted their money back got it settled. You basicly have two options. Go pick it up and accept the...

    Two engines

If I could get my deuce up to "the base output of the NHC250" I'd be happy. I honestly don't think the multifuel is up to the task though. ;-)

    M35A3 No Winch / Install?

Isn't the A3 winch the same winch as an A2 with a hyd motor added? Shouldn't be too hard to find a hyd motor and fab up a mounting bracket and coupling. I still think you'd be money ahead to buy a truck with a winch already on it. There are other options though if you're not a purist.

    Fort Campbell help

I've already been talking to him but I'm tied up and can get to them in the allotted timeframe.

    Wisconsin Legislature Passes HMV Bill

I believe I remember that this bill only covers MVs going to and from parades, shows, and whatnot. Is this correct?

First Deuce - Picked It Up Today

As far as paint goes, I'm a fan of Gillispie paint from www.rapcoparts.com . Some people like CARC paint also (it's what the military uses). I have no idea where to get CARC.

    Running 10-Ton in Florida - $2500

I wondered if that would work after I posted. Sounds like you've done it so I guess it will.

    Running 10-Ton in Florida - $2500

If I were closer I'd buy it sight unseen. Getting it home could be exspensive. They are overwidth.

    A trip to Redstone Arsenal

They sure look nice. I had no idea they weighed that much though. I would have guessed about 300lbs for the case and maybe another 50-75 lbs for the crate.

    leaving feedback

I've sold several items in the classifieds and I have yet to receive any feedback. I assume they are satisfied because I haven't heard any different. Come to think of it, I haven't left feedback for the stuff I've bought either so I can't help you on how to do it. I have seen several folks with...

M35 bed on M105 Frame w/ axle move

Hey, This gives me some ideas. I've got a spare truck bed and was wondering what I could do with it.

    M35 prepping for paint

It all depends on how good of job you want. If there are any rough places or height differences it will still be there after you paint. The plus side is that with a flat paint you won't be able to notice it unless it's really bad. If you go with a semi-gloss imperfections will show up more.

TOWING A M35A3 from TN to MD. CDL NEEDED?

If the truck is at Ft. Campbell you will only be in TN while on base (all trucks have to enter through gate 7 which is in KY) so you won't have to worry about scales or anything in TN.

    Stopped by the NCSHP

This just goes to show you that it's not about safety (as they claim) it's about money. A trucking company makes sure it's drivers are qualified, is fully insured, and keeps safety records on all it's vehicles. = A pretty safe truck on the road. Yet they are taxed and hassled to death. A 75...
