While I don't have what you are looking for I do have a question about the pic. I thought all M342s have short metal sides. Looks like the one in the pic has wooden sides all the way to bed floor or is it just the angle of the pic?
When I think about it more I'd have to agree with you. I was thinking more along the lines of the truck in question. Does it have a bad engine or just the starter? This is where you enter the "gray area" you talk about.
1. They look ugly with their nose stuck up in the air.
2. A3 specific parts are hard to find.
3. The engines in the A3s wasn't the best engine Cat ever made (still a desent engine though).
4. The CTIS is nothing but problems.
5. A3s cost alot more than A3s.
6. Engine and trans problems cost alot...
Technically what you say happens on other sites and at live auctions is against the law. I know people do it all the time and it is commonplace at live auctions. The trouble with posting the info in a public forum is now you have a written record of the offence. I agree with Chris, it's best...
I wish somebody would open up a MV "junk yard" next to my place. That way we could swap parts :-D.
I hate it when threads like this come up. Even if you win the legal battle neighbors can still make your life he11. I had a run-in with a neighbor when I filled in a sink hole next to the...
That's an awfully big engine to put in a M715 but If you want to do this, go ahead. Better check you're front axle/oilpan clearance to start with.
The front springs are going to be loaded for sure but you can add leafs. Any spring shop should be able to fix you up.
Line locks work ok but...
I knew when this thread started it would turn in to a Gillespie verses CARC thread . That's fine, there are diehard fans of both types around here.
The main thing with any paintjob is the prep before paint. Whatever paint you use will be fine but neither will hold up well if you don't...
Don't know about putting red oxide over in but epoxy primer but I will tell you epoxy primer is some good stuff. It's not cheap but is tough as nails. I used to use it all the time on old tractors. It will also fill small imperfections. I have a feeling what you are wanting to do will work but...
Could be a good deal depending on condition. I tend to suspect problems with trucks like this. If you are going to sell a truck I'd think at the very least you would buy some batteries for it so prospective buyers could start it. It could be sitting in a hole but it looks like it has a flat...

I bet the deuce won't get cut up for scrap. I've already saved the bed and if Ian gives me the ok I'll be more than happy to go back and get the truck . I've seen the truck in person and I will say that the mods he's done on it so far are top notch.
When I was at their shop picking up the...
