In Tennessee they check anything with a diesel engine regardless of what plates you run. Besides that it's illegal and shouldn't be posted in a public forum if you are going to do it ;-). You can get by with running WMO and WVO and such because the cops aren't looking for that. What they are...
I hope you guys running off road diesel aren't driving your trucks on the road. This is a big no-no and can lead to fines in the thousands if caught running it on the road. The lowest fine I've heard of here in Tennessee is $2,000. They go up from there.
I voted I have witnessed an explosion. It happened right in my face. The charger had a bad connection so I went to "wiggle" the clamps, spark, BOOM. Happened when I was 15. I know better know. Learned that when a battery charges it vents off explosive hydrogen gas. Had a mini Hindenburg in my hands.
Well you could put in a deuce case but it would be weaker. I've seen some big civilain trucks that were all wheel drive. May find something there that would work.
There is a chance if you turn it the engine could start. I doubt you'd ever spin it enough to start it but it could happen. We would then call you stumpy because of all your missing fingers .
No, David Doyle isn't connected with Memphis Equipment. I think he does hang out there some. He goes by DDoyle here on SS. The Memphis Equipment in Memphis is still in operation. That was another location they closed. You're welcome to come see mine and even take one for a spin but you may can...
There was a thread about this same thing a couple of days ago. It's my understanding that all the air valve does is switch the sprag from foward to reverse depending on the trans gear. It doesn't engage the front end. If you added a manual valve you'd more than likely tear up your t-case even more.
I'm about 40 miles west of Nashville. You live just down the road from the Grand Poobah of all military vehicles (David Doyle). If you could spend some time talking to him it would be priceless.
I'm talking about an air-shift transfer case. That's the kind of t-case you want if at all possible. Some of the older trucks had a sprag (automatic) t-case which will cause problems if not adjusted correctly or abused.
The only way to know what an item went for is to either watch it the auction close or to have bid on it and look at the price in "bid history". The prices in the closed watchlist are always way off.
They have come down a bit but I don't think they will ever drop to the level of an A2. The volume is not there and for some reason people like the butt ugly thing .
They've been below 10k for some time on GL. I've even seen a few around 5K.
Batteries normally don't explode because of pressure inside the battery. It's the hydrogen gas comming out of the vents that ignites and causes the explosion. If you have pressure comming out the vents whatever you do don't make a spark or be smoking around it (ask me how I know). Having a...
Thanks Gimp but I've got some extras. The truck is for sale in the classifieds right now (shameless plug ) so I'm not going to add one anyway. I just thought it was odd that it didn't have one.
What I do need is some cable ends. I've got a bunch of welding leads and I need to make up...
