    Deuce "Eager Beaver" article

"Thus, contracts for 2 1/2 ton Eager Beaver trucks were also awarded to General Motors and to Studebaker through 1953." Are you sure this isn't a misprint? I've never seen a GM produced M35 truck. I think maybe the writer got mixed up with the GM M135/M211 trucks that were being produced at...

    just a lil problem

That's kind of what I was thinking. Most of the time when a connection burns up it's because of a bad connection.

    Replacing axle gasket outer

You can run it for a pretty good while if you don't mind the mess and keep tabs on the axle oil level. If it was me I'd get it fixed though. It's not that big of a deal to do.

Got a few problems. Please help.

Mark is correct. If it's an early truck it could be on the passenger side. I'd look there if you don't have any luck on the drivers side.

    Replacing axle gasket outer

Not really. The outer seal holds the gear oil back . There is gear oil aginst the axle flange. If the gasket leaks there it will be gear oil.

Roof mounted A/c on a hard top?

That would be to down side to a RV unit. I've seen roof mounted units mounted on old big rigs that was completly self contained. It used water and you had to add more water every day. Don't know how well it worked. I think it was made by Kaiser ( different company than the Kaiser that made MVs).

    Air Brakes Question

You are right about that. I've had them apart and spring brakes have a massive spring in them that could very well kill you if you take the band off. You have to have a special tool to take them apart without injury. You can take non-spring brakes apart without the tool but they too have a...

    sorry for the newb question

I'd have to disagree. The air shifting does take place inside the t-case. You are correct in saying the t-case does shift from high and low but it also engages the front axle. If I saw a truck for sale and the add said "air select t-case" I would think it meant it had a air-shift and not a sprag.

    hydralic winch

From what I found out is Chelsea did make the correct gear sets but is obsolete and no longer available. A hyd winch would be far easier to control and be a big improvement but it would depend on how much you use the winch to know if it would be worth it or not.

If you need a carb I'll send it to you if you pay shipping. I'm tired of tripping over it in the shop.

    MM543 boom cable length

    I don't know for sure about a M543 but a M62 requires a 3 part line for max lift.

    hydralic winch

I'm running a 45,000lb wrecker drag winch off of hyd. on a civilain KW. It's powered by a 1,700 in/lb motor (which is a very large hyd motor) and a 40GPM pump. By the time I geared it to pull the rated 45,000lb it is still pretty slow and the oil heats up pretty quick on long pulls. Another...

    hydralic winch

I'm pretty sure the pressure would be fine as they are a standard gear pump but the problem is going to be volume. It will still work but it will be very slow. There is really no way to increase volume output other than a bigger pump. The flange on the engine is a standard pump mount so mounting...

    winch questions

Worm gears don't like to back off but will if enough load is applied. It works a little different than a bolt because the force is a turning force on a winch where as a bolt has a force that's trying to pull it apart and you have the friction of the bolt head and nut against the part being...

    Engine Problem, Need Some Help

Did you mean "Cummins 6 cyl"? If so I don't think a Cummins gasket will fit a multifuel.

    Need answer ASAP!!

I've tore front ends apart that did and didn't have the outer seal. I don't know if they were put in from the factory or not but they really arn't needed on the front. There is nothing to seal that I can see.
