civilain trailers with air brakes have always had parking brakes ( in the last 50 or 60 years anyway). What they haven't had is spring brakes that became manditory sometime in the 80s. A trailer without spring brakes still has a parking brake but when the air leaks off the trailer air tanks the...
Did a little research on oil and prices awhile back. I checked prices on 15w40 Rotella at all the auto parts stores, Walmart, Sams, and Kmart. Our local Farmers CO-OP has them all beat with their brand 15w40 oil by $1 a gallon. It has the same specs as Rotella so I think I'm going to deal with...
I've got one I took off a truck I had before I sold it. Only problem is that I keep my truck parked in a shed. I guess I could mount it outside on the shed and attach it to the bats. with alligator clips while the truck is parked.
:ditto:
If you've ever pulled a deuce with another deuce and have the tires on the towed tuck "cock" all one way in a sharp turn and it jerks the back of the towing deuce around a little you'll know. Anything smaller would end up in the ditch at best. I would say it's a good rule of thumb that...
I had a deuce that came from GL with a rear view mirror. I have no idea if it was factory or installed by the unit or something. It fit nicely and was screwed to the center windshield post. I sold the truck but took the mirror out to put in my keeper deuce but haven't installed it yet.
I will...
When I brought this up I was just kind of thinking out loud. I have no need to do this project just curious if anybody had thought of doing this and if it would be practical. Some people have already brought up some valid points as to why it may not work.
Not that I'm going to do this but I was sitting around thinking today  and wondered about this. Could you take a M105 and put a deuce axle under it and power it off the rear axle output of the deuce? I'm thinking something like a PTO shaft on farm equipment to run from the truck to the...
I've go some sort of sending unit on one of my deuces that I haven't seen before. I've looked at the TMs but couldn't find it.
It's a sending unit with two wires going to it mounted on top of the manifold water jacket right above the temp sending unit. Every other truck and engine I've seen...
DDoyle and a few others are big fans of the gassers. I've never been around a gasser myself but in most things that can be had either way I always opt for the diesel. Usually more power, better fuel mileage, and tend to last longer.
I've used some stuff they sell at the local C0-OP in tube tires with good results. The label says "not for tube type tires" but I haven't had any problems but it won't stop as big of a leak as it will in a tubeless. I have had people tell me that tried it say that tire sealer doesn't work well...
You can adjust the castor by adding wedges under the springs but the camber was set when they built the axle so the only way to change it is with a torch and welder.
Around here CA is called "the land of fruits and nuts". I know there are alot of good people there as shown by the members here but CA does have a bumper crop of fruits and nuts.:-D
I had them on a truck I sold but removed them before I sold it to go on my keeper. I haven't installed them yet but don't know what I'm waiting on. They do make it alot easier to climb upon the bumper.
Mike, Is that the tow shackle brackets I sent you hangging underneath the bumper? If it is I wondered what you was going to do with them. Now I know .
