Have you looked at or seen a pic of one from the side? I'd have to disagree although there are some people that like the looks of the A3.
If you're wanting gin poles and a rear winch what you need is a M756A2 pipe line construction truck. It already has a rear winch and gin poles. They are...
I remeber David Doyle mentioning a manual for the winch a while back but I don't remember the number. I know at the time I looked for it and couldn't find it anywhere. There is a parts breakdown in the TM 9-2320-209-20P and that's all I've been able to find.
I bet you'll never get a sf97. I've had several people tell me that deal in alot of vehicles that you can get a title in TN with a bill of sale if the truck is over 25 years old. I haven't tried it myself so I don't know for sure. I do know the head of the DMV in my county can be hard to deal...
Ok, Nobody tell Kenny but what we will do is get different members to move the truck all over the country and take pics of the truck in front of different historic places and such then post them here. He will never know where it will end up next.rofl
I can see it now. One pic in front of the...
jatonka, Checked with my source today. I've got some good news and some bad news. Good news is Chelsea did make a PTO for the 3053 (part #308454-3). The bad news is they don't make them anymore . If you happen to run across a Chelsea 308454-3 it will work according to my guy .
David, how can a 1969 truck have a "NK" number. I know the S/N indicates a 1969 but I thought the "NK" reg. numbers didn't come about untill 1972. If that's the case that's not the reg. number the truck came from the factory with. I'm not questioning what you said. I'm just trying to understand.
I'll check my source. I've delt with some oddball transmissions before (but never a 3052 or 3053) and they've always found a PTO to fit. I'd be suprised if they couldn't come up with a PTO that will work but I'll check and see.
Well I thought '88 was the last year but there's a couple of people on another thread that says their manufacturer's data plate has dates in the early '90s. I've never known them to change a manufacturer's data plate (the plate with the engine manufacturer's name on it) after a rebuild. All I've...
Well it might fit if you changed the gears. There's a place I deal with in Nashville that can take pretty much any Chelsea PTO and change the gear to fit just about any trans. I only ran into a problem one time whan I tried to mount a fairly old PTO onto a late 90s model Chevy 2-ton. The PTO was...
Don, Was it all the weight on the rear hinges when the load stuck that caused the frame to bend? I would think the front wheels would come off the ground before the frame bent. How heavy was the truck loaded?
Clinto, I've thought about comming up with a kit because I've installed several dumps...
If it says 4-91 on the data plate that has the brand of enging at the top of the plate it very well could have been made in '91. The info I have says the last engines were in '88 but who knows. I've never seen a manufacturers data plate changed out on a engine for a rebuild. I've just seen a...
I wasn't talking about the frame of the truck. I was talking about the bed frame. While the bed is bolted down to the truck the bed is supported by the truck frame somewhat. When you add a dump all that weight is suported on the rear hinge and the hoist with no support between them two points...
From what I understand the EPA granted the gov. a one year waiver for 3,000 engines in Sept. 1987 so '88 should be the last year. I've got one engine in my deuce and two spares. The one in my trucks is dated '84 on the ID tag with a rebuild tag under it that is dated '92 with rod and main...
Kenny, Looks like jatonka may have a deuce dump before you do:-D.
I've been thinking about a dump and gathering parts for over a year but havn't stated it yet. I've installed several dumps on civy trucks but not on a deuce yet. One issue I've seen is a deuce bed frame is very light compared to...
You can find out if it's a rod knock by performing a simple test . Start the engine and listen for the knock and watch your oil pressure gauge. When the oil pressure starts to come up if the sound of the knock changes you more than likely have a rod issue (or at least a oil lubricated part). If...
