Yes they are more centered. So to mount a chunk in an int axle with the same rotation, you have to flip the axle over.

An intermediate axle is the same bolt pattern but upside down

Curious why You think the previous owner knew there was a problem? I know Matt well, and have helped him troubleshoot a lot of things-a trans issue never came up. Ever.

If your interested, I have one left of the lifting jig design that is in the TM. If you have a crane it’s the way to go.

Mine came with no batteries. Put some in-did just like you said , then about a week later started charging the batteries. Charged and ran on dc just fine. Then I screwed up and let them discharge. Same thing again. Took about 3 days for the batteries to start charging. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Or use a high pinion intermediate axle (I have an extra)

Call your local auto glass mobile repair company. For what they will charge to remove and then replace-its money well spent. Sometimes, you just have to let the guys with their names on their shirts do their thing

Can’t help you there, but put some down-pressure on it and hit both sides of the taper at the same time with a couple of BFHs. Should pop right out.
