If you drain it that low the low oil sensor should shut it right back off. just half way will be fine. these things are as simple as they get.

Not sure of your question, but the middle strap just evenly divides the roof cross bed support bars and keeps everything seperated. i added an addditional flat curved bar for more roof support due to snow loads in my area. depending on what cover you have is going to vary what kind of straps...

I had a similar experience with a 531 not too long ago, just for nailing things down pull the flash arrestor off of the end of the exhaust and see what happens

how much 3 phase output do you need might be the better question in order to get you the right generator or keep working on this one.

not sure what filter brand you have coming, but i have found only the Onan original or the fram filter come with the extra orings
