I have a 2003 M1078A1 the button labeled warmup/off/retard.
I’ve just realized hope wonderful that switch is when switched to retard. That is how you activate the exhaust brake. I’ve never driven a vehicle with this feature and love how well it works and will save my brake shoes from excessive...
I’ve already done the gear change and went from 4-4.5 mpg to 6 mpg. Top speed was 58 now 74MPH. Just don’t drive that fast….stay under 60MPH for mileage and safety.
Please post top speed and MPG.
I’m considering removing my starter on my 2003
A1 with the 3126 engine and have the local starter repair shop pull it apart and clean it up and check everything out, before we head off on our overlanding journey. I haven’t had a moments trouble with it for the 7 years I’ve owned it and 5,000...
I just talked to a friend in Louisiana that was able to insure his LMTV conversion into a motor home and State Farm insured him. I’m going to press my local State Farm harder they said they would relook at it.
Help in Florida!!! Hope you guys can help me out. I’ve had my LMTV insured through State Farm for 7 years as a truck. I just converted the title to be registered as an RV. This morning my local State Farm agent said they can’t insure it as an RV and will be dropping my coverage in April. Who do...
What state are you in? I’m in Florida, I’ve had my LMTV insured with State Farm for 7 years as a truck, just finished the build and had the title change to RV.
This morning State Farm says their underwriter said they cannot insure it and will be dropping me.
many help would be appreciated.
Well I finally made it…..well almost 98% complete on the M1078 conversion to a M1079 Overland vehicle. My wife and I both just retired and took the kids to a North Carolina vacation before their college starts back in a week. Then a few finishing touches on the truck. Then a week on a cruise...
I purchased my truck in 2015 with only 4,500 miles on it. It now has a little over 10,000 miles on it so I’m praying that if problems haven’t shown up so far that I was lucky to get a good motor. I already replaced the transmission years ago. 🤞🏻
So I just finished connecting them to 24 Vdc and oh yeah baby!!!! They are more than twice as fast almost 3 times faster. I’m guessing because they over came the load allowing it to move faster. 2 seconds up and 2 seconds down.
