There is a guy on this list who fabricates the straps for things like jerry cans and pioneer tool racks (I forget his screen name). I wonder if he could take the hardware and replicate the straps.
Hopefully, it does not come to it, but, if you need an engine, Eastern Surplus in PA has running take out 6.5s. They will test run the engine for you and send you a video of it. A friend bought an engine after I told him about them and he was very happy. I think they want around $2k.
The M105A3 is a much better trailer for a number of reasons. This is coming from someone who has both and has used both. (1) The bed is galvinized, although this is also true of the M105A2s with the replacement Pribbs bed. (2) The trailer has an integral ladder mounted to the tailgate that...
I should have added that the VIN tags were metal tags hanging from the suspension in the front attached by a thin metal wire. As I said, I have never seen one. I am only reporting what I was told by a guy I trust. With that said, I am unsure if those came from the factory or possibly at some...
If none is specified, I am unsure what they will do since it is a vehicle. I would think they will still issue an SF-97 without a VIN (specified as UNK for unknown). I have gotten trailers marked as such in the distant past, but never with a vehicle. From there, I am unsure what you would...
I used to horde parts for every vehicle I owned. I literally had thousands and thousands of dollars of parts, mostly NOS. I had all kinds of stuff, some very rare and highly desirable. I decided when doing a mental inventory that it made much more sense for me to just buy what I need WHEN I...
I have not had this problem. I used to ALWAYS take any truck I had with an Allison to an Allison dealer for its first servicing. They would do the typical servicing (getting rid of the 15W40 for their recommended ATF fluid) and also check it over, adjusting the shift points and anything else...
Remove the transmission tunnel and remove the shifter assembly from the transmission. Check to make sure you don't have a bent shifter fork or something else minor is wrong. I believe TNJ Murray in DE has NOS shifter assemblies, or at least he did when I bought one from him several years back.
There is a guy on eBay that is selling MTVR windshield glass. I believe he is a fabricator. I think he can fabricate the turret cover. He has a truck and could remove the cover to take measurements so the replacement is exact. He offered me his services on other fab work. I'd check with him.
