You have a 242....there's an early and late one...early has a 3 bolt tail shaft housing, late has 4 bolts. There is a round I.D.plate facing aft that says what it is, and should have a date. The updated ones sometimes had a blue band around one of the cooling tubes just outside the T/C.

Here's some photo's... First is an old LAU.....not used anymore. PN 12379864 # 2..KDS green label...CR-2699.....burnt and corroded. This old type can use any temp sensor or none.

No bigger brakes on 3 spd. trucks , and they don't overhaul the whole thing...they upgrade some, and replace whats AFU. Frame plates...Whats that ? 6.5 probably went in do to a bad 6.2. Sometimes they change the T/C.
