A second older style (short bodied) 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer appeared for sale on a local ad 1 week after I purchased my first one. I went and looked at it and told the seller I was interested in some parts if he was unable to sell the whole trailer.
Well...I grew tired of the want ad search...
O'Reilly's was able to find a good match to the hub gasket:
P/N: 4390
Rear Axle Flange
Dodge Truck, 1941-62
So, trying again, this time I ordered a 2-9/16" octagon axle nut socket from eBay. It fit perfectly and the axle nuts came off easily. (forgot to take pictures). I'm glad that there...
Tonight I found out that months ago when I measured the shock mount I had done so incorrectly. I had measured the mount before I removed the shocks, so yeah, 5/8" is the thread size, while the shoulder that the shock rests on is actually 0.76", or basically a tight 3/4"!
Whoops.
So the...
I purchased a pair of flat LED tail lights so I can use the same lighting whether I tow the trailer with my little pickup or my M35A2. I'm going to use an M105 trailer harness so it'll be a little too long but I can loop up a bit of the excess. I'll just put in 'Y' splitters on the appropriate...
3/4 ton trailers?
If so, cool, that means that the #8 option (37114) from above likely won't limit the trailer suspension compression by only compressing to 12.88" and I can get a $50 rebate :D
I do not have a lot of trailer experience either, but I do know it reduces wear on the lunette and pintle to grease them. Maybe it would also help prevent such a situation where a bind might otherwise occur?
When I'm done using my trailer for a while I always wipe off the grease on the...
I forgot to measure the wheel center hole diameter, but I think I'm going to stay with this axle. I'm sure a new or different axle could shed some weight or provide other wheel options. Or I could just re-pack the bearings, obtain 1 more lock-ring style wheel for a spare and run with tubes. I...
Thank you very much for your posts and help.
As I stated earlier I initially wanted to go tubeless wheels, but I think I'm in agreement with you now. I doubt once aired up I'd have any problems, even when off roading. My deuce has similar style of wheels with tubes.
Getting a spare for the...
Ray at the Powder Works researched and found for me that the TCI brand Fed 34094 flat green powder coat is a Urethane based powder coat. That means it'll be just fine with sun (UV) exposure as well be amply strong. However, it does have a weakness to solvents, chemical cleaners and even gasoline...
Still hoping someone can help me answer these questions.
Was the 2-9/16" 8-sided actually correct? It appears a 2-5/8" 8-sided does not exists (Checked Summit, O'Reilly's, Autozone, Amazon, eBay...). Given the age, I can't imagine it being metric (I've not seen metric sizes in this style...
So, this is big news for my work and projects. I'm sure you're already well aware of this vulnerability uncovered, but if not, and SteelSoldiers uses OpenSSL, ensure it's upgrade or every server by the webhost is configured to disable support of SSLv2.

Severity HIGH...
Outer dual off, I started dismounting the inner dual (2 of the six lug nuts removed, the other 4 still on). I then stuck an inner lug nut just barely back on the threads. It was only ever, ever-so-slightly engaged on the first thread, just enough to hold it in place (bump it and it'd fall)...
My ring appears to be fiberglass and has a lip around the top. Sewn into the vinyl cover edge is a long spring that rests in that ring channel. That's all that holds it in, but it's a rather tight fit.
A close up of one of my pictures shows said spring, but if you'd like more I'll have to go...
