What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yessir, you should be looking for an M105 bow corner (I believe the 3/4 ton M101 trailers use the same?). The deuce uses the same bow corners as the M809 series and M939 series 5-tons. It's flat and wide. Where the trailers use corners that are about the same width as they are thick. M35...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I think you meant 2 M105 trailer beds.

You know, less than 3 hours north of you is forum member hndrsonj, he bought an M37 that had a spare bed-side piece.... http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?147925-Finally-restorng-the-M37 Just throwing it out there :)

    M37 hub swap

Not trying to derail... on the topic of M37 wheels, I've read some that the Pioneer Tool Trailer, being 5 lug, also uses the M37 wheel. Do you know if that is the case? I would be quite interested in going tubeless... Sorry, I didn't take any photos specifically of the wheels, so I cropped a...

    Trailer Theft

Thanks bikeman, but I think I prefer the other style. I just searched for "lunette lock" on eBay (a better search is for "BDL253") and found sellers of there for about $27 with free shipping. I sure do like saving over 60% of the cost of the product in shipping.

    Random items found in HMMWV

That spout will likely fit the Scepter fuel cans and the older US "Spam can" fuel cans with the flat lid that likes to leak.

    Trailer Theft

Old thread bump... but thanks for the link! It stinks that shipping to UT is $17.00+ for a $27.00 item! But I've used this for the past 2 years on my M105A2 and am considering buying another for my Pioneer Tool trailer.

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

Speaking about registration, I have some concern that I'll have difficulties. It only came with a bill of sale as I don't think anyone has ever bothered registering/titling it. I'll have to apply for a title and have a officer inspect the VIN. Is the serial number stamped on the frame anywhere...

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

For the curious, I forgot to mention I paid $300 for it (Plus probably the $~25 in fuel to get it home, heh). Price points are different from person to person, but I think I did just fine, and the seller got a lot more than scrap would have given him for the some ~1400 lbs. Unfortunately that...

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

No kidding! Unlike my mailbox stickers with my house number where the black and reflective "stuff" wear off in 5 years. The delineator stickers are STILL very reflective, even with all the sitting outside, scrapes and wear. Only the one on the front of the right fender is missing. They are...

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

And if you haven't yet read enough, here's little synopsis of my recovery: I was worried about the tires (which have like new tread but sidewall cracking) and the bearings as the thing probably has sat around for a while. I towed it a block and checked the tires and felt the hubs for heat...

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

It's not as dramatic as it sounds, but the seller did say he had considered just straight up scrapping it, but thought he'd try selling it first. Hey, in Utah with the high Boy Scout population, it was a logical move. However, I want it for my own camping and not for the Boy Scouts. :) Though...

    truck I.D.

Wasn't there a 2016 VIN INFO thread started up by another individual who has some access to the same info that CARNAC did for all Army vehicles? I've searched but am not seeming to find it... it's not in the Member's Rides forum either...

I'm thinking of buying a salvaged RV and having it towed to Paso Robles.

Try contacting Justin at Rounder's Logistics (or use their free online shipping calculator to rough it out). http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?144006-We-can-Transport-it! But In general, when transporting larger vehicles I use "about $2 per mile" to quickly estimate cost.

Yet another newb trying to post pics

I have an iPhone and I actually use the full website in Safari. It makes it a bit more cumbersome to move around and ZOOM up on buttons to be clicked. But it works uploading directly from my camera roll via the Steel Soldier's photo upload mechanism - it just takes some... finger finesse.

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

Well, do you mean the whole ring/leg assembly or just the M23 cradle that the gun sits in? In the end, I suppose either answer is about the same, appears to be fairly uncommon and it is reflected in the price they generally command since they're typically removed from trucks when sold to the...

    M35A3 AIr-O-Matic leak

As in the same that's already on the truck? I thought the air-o-mattics used pretty high quality lines and, personally, I see nothing wrong with using the same type. If I needed to replace mine I would visit my local "Evco, House of Hose" and have them cut the lengths I need. My NOS air-o-matic...

    Winch and Bumper Project

That's looking top notch Mr. Rustystud! I love watching your projects, even more so that you separate the threads into topics versus a single build thread. Perhaps more for you to keep track up, but it's easier for someone like myself to digest and follow by topic/task.
