I've been considering buying a 20 CFM air compressor for my new home with the intention of using it for air tools and blowing debris off my projects. But now I'm wondering if I should get a smaller unit to avoid running a new 220V line and go electric with the impact wrenches. I'd use it on my...
That is true since the 545 is geared lower. But depending on the motor you're mating it to, it might not matter. I only drive the truck 45 mph max so top speed isn't much of a concern for me anyway.
What motor are you using?
This winter I was hoping to pull the wheels off my M35A3 to do the rim seals. Of course I forgot that they weigh nearly 400 lbs each and I sold my tractor to buy the truck (I wasn't using my tractor at all!).
So how can I safely handle these wheels on my own? Would a simple hydraulic engine...
I was about to post one reply and realized the OP is from 2013:3dAngus:
With that being said, I found two complete trucks in a quick internet search. One going for $5k, and one going for nearly $18k. YMMV.
Yet another old M35A3 thread. I'm looking for other M35A3 owners in Western NY. I know of two others who are members on this board, but I'm wondering if there's anyone else. I think it would be fun to get our A3s together at the ESATA truck show in Stafford at some point!
I'm bringing this topic back to life. It's an interesting read, and now I have a query. How much does the 60-amp alternator weigh? I might need to pull an alternator out of my truck and the manual says it's a two-person job.
My truck is parked for the winter now. It turns out the stone parking area at the new house allows me to position the truck in a way to minimize the likelihood of tree branches coming down on top of it, while allowing me to park a daily driver on either side of it.
I still plan to tarp the...
I almost bought a house with a 5000 sf shop, but the doors wouldn't have been tall enough for my deuce unless I put the windshield down and towed it inside with a tractor! I hope to build a barn of sorts in the next couple years to store the truck and a future camper.
Considering the inch of...
I've learned a lot in this thread, that's for sure. I'm curious about the motor oil/diesel underside coating. Does that last for just one season? I can't imagine that being particularly healthy for the paint underneath, but I could be wrong.
I know car washes are able to reclaim water, but I'd hope it gets filtered or desalinated. Otherwise what's the point?
I'd be hesitant getting a car washed in the winter anyway. It's a good way to freeze your doors shut, nevermind anything underneath that it might freeze up. I think about how...
I get nervous about the underbody sprayers. Sure, fording is one thing, but pressurized jets applied to the underside? I'm nervous about that with my daily driver. Factor in freezing temperatures and you'd probably just freeze everything up. Yes?
Maybe some day I'll go for a snow romp. I used to do that with my 1999 Wrangler before its rusty, 210k mile frame about split in two! Actually, driving this truck reminds me so much of my old jeep other than the automatic transmission.
Thank you for the tip about the diesel fuel additive...
Not sure you noticed, but that $450 is for the roof and frame only. I'd have to find something to build it up on, like old corral rails. I was considering a home-built PVC structure covered with a tarp or two. With moving in and the weather getting crappy, though, I'm not sure I'll have time...
It's going to snow here within the next few days, and when the salt hits the road, the truck is parked for the winter. Unfortunately, my new house doesn't have a treeless spot in the yard to park it. My biggest concern is branches coming down and damaging the soft cab and cargo covers.
So...
