I also put on a Kat's 400 W water heater plug. Looks like prices have went up over $10 from when I purchased mine back in February.

I had no clearance issues in the lower water pump hole...
I drained and refilled the transmission and transfer case. I used a flexible funnel and filled from inside the cab. Surprisingly slow going. I ended up just filling the funnel and going to do something else and just climb back into the cab from time to time to refill the slow flowing funnel...
Thanks, but not as nice as peashooter's ;)
Having it that high would low deeper water fording. Not that I intend that at all. Others will just secure the vent hoses high on the frame. I just really like the look and location of the manifold. The bottom could be plugged then just pipe the top...
Hello too from your northerly neighbor, Utah. What kind of project do you/your company have in mind? Whatever you do, take a lot of pictures and tell us all about it!
:)
Last weekend I added teflon tape to the master cylinder cap threads (I put at least 4 layers of tape - so nice and thick). After about a week of sitting it appears to have solved the leaking (for a remote reservoir). [thumbzup]
Though it does seem to want to leak a bit from the base of the...
I like your idea of building one complete truck from the second (all the best parts on one), and then having (or selling) the other spares.
Really cool either way. [thumbzup]
Keep us posted on your method to get them home and then all your work, er, I mean, play afterward. :)
:funny:
Hey, I totally agree! There's a part of me that wants to maintain the original functions - that includes blackout.
I hadnt thought about the ability of using them as work lights. Nice think'n!
I finished wiring the rear marker lights (old A3 brackets, new paint and lights) to the "21" circuit (look for the wire end on the tail light/rear harness with the little metal tag crimped to the wire with a "21" stamped in it - probably will be covered in dirt and paint like mine was). The red...
I finally installed a remote brake reservoir. It's leaking from the threads of the cap on the top of the master cylinder.
Let me guess, I should have taken it off and put Teflon tape on the threads. (Yes, it was on all the way and would turn no more). Doh!
My wooden slat troop seats have that spacing both front and rear on both sides. I've always assumed it was so the troop seats can be lowered from the outside of the truck. You know, you reach through the opening and lift the retaining latch both front and back and that allows the seats to be...
Bumping this old thread to perhaps continue discussion on mistaken1's post. I've only read folks encouraging use of the Alcohol Evaporator kits or others w/o the kit and not having freeze up issues.
Does anyone have insight as to why Bendix would put out this bulletin to discourage the use/void...
I just wanted to actually post my THANKS for doing this. I'm hoping to dive in and learn all about and REPAIR M816 wrecker this summer. It's just been sitting there since November.
Since this old thread has good reference pictures of a dropside bed and M105 tailgate rubber bumpers, I thought I would show how I added bumpers to my non-dropside deuce (A2).
I saw these for sale on Eastern Surplus and thought I'd see how well, if at all, they'd work out on my truck...
Thanks for confirming this. That's my understanding too - one would need a whole new double spline axle shaft (splines on both ends because the stock axle shaft is part of the hub), like Ouverson's sells:
http://www.ouversonusa.com/rockwell_16spline.php
And as long as you haven't added a...
THANKS peashooter! I looked at the tube I picked and it does NOT list Push To Connect as a compatible fitting, and the other DOT approved hose and fittings are WAY better (not to mention the 90 degree fittings would be/fit right, where I had picked incorrectly the straight ones)...
I really like your axle vent solution!
Anyway, my question is, in your third picture I can see you've capped off the top of the manifold, but what did you place on the bottom of the manifold? I'm assuming it's some sort of filter just to help prevent crud from the engine compartment from going...
I used RTV as well.
For as much as I feel like I live "too close" to other people, living two blocks from a common auto-parts store is pretty sweet.
