    The Long Road

Another of my brothers introduced me to Alex Shepherd, owner and operator of Cache Valley Coating. Great guy. He finished up the sand blasting of the troop seat legs and powder coated everything. (Color number: Fed 34094 Green) I had a hard time deciding whether or not to refinish them too -...

    The Long Road

In the mean time one of my brother hooked me up with the industrial sand blaster at his work. Took care of all 10 uprights. The thing was way cool, used little graphite beads. As a payback , I helped him acquire and unload his new MEP-701. ;^D

    The Long Road

Then came the long process of sanding that I started with a belt sander (40 grit) and a very poor hand electric sander. I spent about an hour on each board to get the paint off. After the initial roughest sanding I finally invested in a Dynabrade pneumatic sander like I have used before. Was...

    The Long Road

Title of this thread is typical of most of my undertakings - the long way of doing things. I think I fuss to much over the details when it really doesn't matter, won't be noticed, or could have done it a simpler way but I just didn't know any better! I was going to wait to post all this once I...

    Electrical fire

If you decide to do a battery disconnect, here's where I put mine. There are many different battery disconnect options out there - some I've seen in the classifieds with a key mounted right near the driver's seat - very slick. Mine is less slick, and just serviceable for my needs/skill level...

    What's your Deuces' name?

I had a friend one day ask me how my ol' Autobot in my garage was doing. I liked the idea of "officially" owning a Transformer. So I named it after an "old timer" Autobot, Kup. (Also later known as Sergeant Kup) =]

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Got these BucketBoss bags to keep the mess/tangle down in my deuce's tool box, and maybe prevent some wear on the hose and cables too. Perfect fit! It would have been a fight each and every time to get the jumper cables in and out of the tool box, and I was already prone to keep scraping the...

    Expectations of M35

Well you're still too far away for me to let ya ride in mine, I'm in Northern Utah along the I-15 corridor. But what these folks have all said is true, except most truck prices over here cost thousands more. My opinion is that's because the West here has many less military bases, thus, less...

    m105 camper build

    How about updates now? :-P

How do you preserve your M101/103/105 covers?

3dAngus, How did your testing and work with the 303 go? I'm considering just taking my 105 cover off and storing it, but the sides are fiberglass and I figure Fiberglass is just as susceptible to UV as the vinyl cover, but a lot harder to ship/replace. Any further update would be appreciated...

What to do about stubborn M105 trailer plug

I think it is bent a little. Doesn't the metal housing of the trailer plug fit inside of the deuce's receptacle? With the deuce's receptacle lip between the plug rubber and metal plug housing? If that's the case I didn't see it mattering too much, unless it's also making that alignment slot tight.

What to do about stubborn M105 trailer plug

Does sound like what I have is all properly oriented the correct way, as I was able to get the receptacle cover on my truck to fit into the notch on the trailer plug. Lubricant that's not harmful to the rubber is a good reminder, easy to forget that not all lubricant is created equal.

What to do about stubborn M105 trailer plug

I've ever only used the ol' PB Blaster on rusted parts, never occurred to me that it is still a lubricating oil. Great idea - even if just "lube it up dummy". [thumbzup]

What to do about stubborn M105 trailer plug

I do have to say, I wasn't looking to get a trailer at this time, but I couldn't let a good location and price pass me up. This is the first trailer that I've ever owned and I am absolutely in love with it. ;) It follows my deuce perfectly, and they look SHARP together!

What to do about stubborn M105 trailer plug

On my new ( to me) 1966 M105A2 trailer, the plug was very difficult to get attached to my M35A2. And in my whopping 2.5 mile drive home the plug disconnected from the bouncing. Because obviously I only had it *barely* connected. I'm scratching my head here wondering how to "push it in...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Picked up the troop seat hardware from being powder coated at a local place! Still working on sanding the wood so it can be re-painted. Also received my new custom license plates in the mail! Named the truck after an "old-timer" Autobot from the Transformers, Kup (later named Sergeant...
