I'd like to report that the springer seat shock upgrade is AWESOME! I seriously only feel the bumps from the rest of the truck moving or my seat slapping my back. I have still bottomed my seat out but it's NOTHING like before. I highly recommend it.
I do sit slightly lower than I did before...
I did not realize there were repair kits for the covers, I don't recall having every seen one for sale. (I guess though I'm really not surprised to learn that there is) I'll have to go do a specific search now.
Thanks for helping me spend more money lol. ;)
Ah, I should have specified, both the deuce and M105 are vinyl covers. Rubber Super rope on the deuce and thick nylon rope on the M105 hold them down.
I'll have to take a picture of the sewing/patching I had done on the deuce's cargo cover, it was by a place that makes boat covers though. I...
And by "highway" I mean I only drive my deuce 45-50 MPH on stock 9.00 x 20 tires.
The cargo cover I purchased a while ago was in need of some TLC and I've had some large rips sewn up on the front passenger corner, and the front/rear window zippers re-stitched.
How has your cargo covers held...
Where exactly is this located at? From the closeness of the picture I'm a bit lost as to where we're looking. If it's also on the driver's side but "in front" of the wire harness bundle you just repaired, then I just covered that hose, as it too had wear from the frame!
Thanks for posting all...
Not all that interesting of an update, but I would like to say, with the tool box being so large, it was very easy to reach the nuts on the bottom side of the bed. They were outside the frame rails, above the back side of the fuel tank and pioneer tool rack.
Used 1/2" grade 8 bolts (1 1/2"...
I know little about present vehicles, but it sounds like you're referring to "Super Rope" such as:

(not the only source for this type of stuff, just one I could find very easily)
Which does just come in spools and you cut it as you...
I will report back when I drive it. Still working on "my list".
Just did an oil change. Glad the parts store didn't give me grief this time about having more than 5 gallons of oil to recycle at a time, as per their policy (I tend to change my little truck's oil and the deuce at the same time)...
Ahhhh, thank you so much for that one sentence clarification. Fixed my pegged gauge too. Cleaning and reseating the connectors on my new sending unit fixed it.
Thank you again for taking the time to post that.
What kind of coolant did you use? I've read there is orange and the regular, typical, green coolant - and conflicting opinions if you can mix them.
My radiator looks low but I was thinking just to drain it and refill it just to clear any/some crud ( if there is ).
I had trouble with my deuce not starting last year. It would make this "clicking" noise as the starter and relay would try to engage but just not turn over. Long story short it was 1 bad battery. I had both load tested at O'Reilly's and Sam's Club.
O'Reilly's said both were good. Sam's club...
Tried to install a new (and improved) springer seat gas shock from "ThoseMilitaryGuys.com". For the life of me I couldn't get the top aligned so I went to all the work of pulling the seat from the truck.
Gave them a call and they were very helpful in answering my questions. Guess the shock is...
I found parts to the M66 ring mount system with my truck!
That's right, two nylon lock nuts likely used to hold on the U-bolts lost in the cab insulation!
I protected some front wire harness bundles from rubbing on the frame. Ever since I read a fellow member's thread about shorting his harness due to wear on the frame and an ensuing fire... I wanted to avoid that!

Wellll I'm glad I didn't touch the petcock then! Thanks for that info.
And you're very welcome for the pictures. I try to take as many as I can, especially when I learn something that I had not read
