Anyone have a solid theory of why they put 2 pto's and pumps on the 936 wreckers? It is not backup for failure because there is only one hydraulic tank. The rear pump would be more than enough to run the front winch. No way they want you running both at the same time, so what gives? Seems to be...
I thought this question deserved a separate answer. I think that if you were to put about 8000 lbs in the rear of your 925 it will pull it up that hill all by itself. But if you don't want to try it alone by all means hook up and go with both but I would hook up the air lines from the front...
Okay a few questions didn't get a answer so here are some of my insights.
As to lights on the truck being pulled if it has good batteries and you hookup airlines to it, turn on the light switch to the first click, stop/turn position and put the flashers on and the brake lights will illuminate...
I actually changed the head out with a different one and made sure that it was flat. And it blew out in a different place this time. This is a common problem as I have changed many over the years, I believe that the head design is weak between the bolts and over time they warp and or crack.
Okay I want to put my 2 cents in I would go with the 12v and 24v alternators and you can keep your batteries and just take one 24v pair and make them a 12v pair use the same main ground but on the 12v pair go positive to positive and ground to ground and leave the other pair of batteries hooked...
I will also put my two cents in about a Gear Vendors. Don't waste your money I had one in a custom 84 dually and it was great right up until it failed and even though I had it installed at the factory and paid through the nose to have them build a new 3 piece driveshaft. They tried to not...
Anyone that is that critical of someone else's toys is not a happy person and should be given a smile and told he doesn't have to worry his self because it is not his!
Wildchild it is MUCH harder to unspool but can be done, now to wind it back in the opposite is true set the tensioner to a good firm setting wind in the slack then ease off the tensioner and then wind in until unstuck, then add tension to finish winding in cable and proced on you way. Now for...
Okay Tinman I have had a civilian 6.2 with a 700r4 and they have even less hp but you would swear it had more than the military cucv. So yes it is worth doing and is a bolt in with factory parts. I will also say a built 700 can handle anything a 6.2 will put out even with turbo. A turbo will be...
