I was fortunate. I got my trailer with my M151A2 that I got from Joe Young. Joe watched the auctions for a while (way before GL) and found a very clean straight-out-of-service trailer. Short of a few holes drilled by GIs and some surface rust inside the bed, it is mint.

I'll second what Randy said. They very RARELY show up on auction sites and, if they do, they are often modified. I had been thinking of parting with my M416, but I used it a few weeks back, and the wife actually told me she thought it was useful so I should keep it! No way I can sell it now.

I have installed plywood and other types of wood in utility trailers to protect and strengthen the trailers for hauling. The trailers do not sit outside or get wet as I mainly use them for hauling things like bags of mulch and firewood. I think that you are asking for a rust-out by adding wood...

In addition to Rotella, I also use Mobil Delvac 15W40 and Valvoline 15W40 in my trucks...whichever is on sale. Come to think of it, I have also used Quakerstate and Pennzoil 15W40. All else being equal, though, I like Rotella, too. In my personal opinion, you can't go wrong with a name brand oil.

If you continue to have problems, buy a rough M920, M916, or M915 and pull the entire transmission assembly. It would not be a bad idea to have extra parts on hand.

We're in yellow S/R 4-9. I am with CUCVFAN (Neil), POWERHOUSEDEUCE (Matt), and HEDELTA (Sean). SteelSoldiers members are usually all around that location. I know we are always right near Cabell. It sounds like we are near Dudley and his crew, too.

If I had the money when the FMTV came up in GA, I would have owned that one...or the guy who got it would have paid substantially more! I wanted that truck badly...and almost pulled the trigger, but I got nervous at the last minute.

HALFTRACK has a nice M936A2 that he wants to sell. I know he is a "motivated" seller so it could probably be gotten cheaply...according to what he told me before he went to USMC officer candidate school.

I might not even have it long enough to complete it! Two guys are VERY interested and one guy has a solid offer on the table. Thinking things over...I hate to part with it, but I like the thrill of the chase (i.e., finding new toys).
