I have been going to Aberdeen since the late 90s. I have seen guys drinking each and every year...and often been part of it. I have never been a part of any gathering that was unusually noisy or rowdy...or did anything to bring negative attention on the group. I can't speak for everyone, but...
I recommend getting the truck hauled professionally. I have taken part in many truck extractions...some without any issues...and others where there were problems. You will remember the ones where there were problems for sure!
I am in...especially since I'll be with both of your sons at the show! One thing to consider...Cabell Garbee usually has a cookout one or two nights. You may want to coordinate this with him. I just spoke with him the other night and he said he was considering BBQ ribs! Cabell is a h*** of a...
No, I do not own the trailer that is for my tractor. My tractor is a 1985 vintage truck. It was designed exclusively to haul the Patriot missile. The tractor that supported the Patriot missile had a knuckleboom. My truck is plumbed for it, but never had it. My truck does not have a rear winch...
Contact Ollie Davis. He's located near Frederick, MD. He knows CUCVs and HMMWVs and can track down electrical problems. Ollie's # is 240-674-6003. Great guy...great mechanic.
Thanks for the invite, Randy. I have never been to the MTA show, but I have heard great things from Bill Peasless and C'Dub (before last summer). I would like to make it up sometime, but I don't think this year will work because I don't expect it will be painted before April or so.
Kenny, it is scheduled to be shipped up to NC within the next month. Feel free to check the truck out if you get up near Tommy (its at his place in FL). Heck, feel free to drive it!
I know the guy who sold them the truck. Sad to see if modified, but he paid the price...he gets to do as he wishes. The guy is going to be driving down through Central and South America...taking a boat to Africa...and then continuing on up through Africa, the Middle East (should be fun) and...
There is a guy on SteelSoldiers, N3UKA, who has some LE light bars. He knows that he cannot legally mount them. They were in a lot of other items that he bought. I am sure he'd sell them assuming he still has them.
Nice looking trucks, by the way.
Thanks for all of the kind words.
James and others, I can guess what the window is for...other than the reasons listed...and I would have guessed as MYOTHERSANM1 has guessed...the window allows you to see the face on the driver as you roll over his car.
I have not figured out what I will do...
I am attaching pics of the truck as it looked when I got it and now. If all goes as planned, it will be completely sandblasted, primed, and painted with fresh 3 color camo CARC within a month. Enjoy.
