It's most likely a 1985 model. Find a punch set, that's how the date was entered at time of receipt. Somebody dropped the ball when your truck arrived at it's first destination or the plate was replaced at some point.
well, the odo only goes to 99,999 miles till it rolls over. Not sure how long you'd have to spin the speedo cable to make it roll around but it's possible. Just like when you see some of these wore slap out but it's only showing 8,000 miles when we all know it's more like 108,000 miles.
Talk to Floridianson, he has a M920 built just how your talking. It's on 16's, dropped tag axle, rear winch can be payed out the M35 bed. No front winch but it's a heck of a truck.
I rode in Stonepickers M1028 Dually that has a 6.5 and a Banks Sidewinder on it. That thing would spin all 4 rears on dirt and fishtail as he floored it at around 20-25 MPH. He claims it'll lay rubber on pavement and I believe him. I'll have one on my truck before all is said and done. Also...
I believe you'll be fine so long as you use a proper towbar, correct pins, airlines hooked, and safety chains. I've towed a few 818's behind my M35 and aside from the pushing going downhill, it was a smooth and slow ride. Your combo has weight on the Prime Mover vehicle on it's side in...
I'm ready. I'm just waiting on PB to send me the Op Order so I can turn in a leave slip at work. I will once again be requesting CUCV space on the Landoll to accommodate my tent and stuff. If someone from SW GA around Albany / Leesburg area would like to drive a M35A2 in good shape and pull...
I'll take good care of Munchies. This should be a breeze in comparison to all the M817's I had to recover a few years back. I'll go on to say, if you buy from Albany, GA, let me know if you need help getting it out of there. Also, if I pull a Gen for someone, I can get it off of my truck on...
I would only use ether if I disabled the glow plugs. My truck fried what was left of it's glow plugs on the way to a parade one morning when I used either. The damage was 3 shattered glow plugs that probably were working up until the point the ether hit the tip. I got off easy. Fuel leaks on...
If these trucks are being recovered the last week of July, I will be able to help you WM. I've got to go down to Blount Island to train some folks on how to drive some stuff. No Charge for my help as I'll be on TAD orders.
I've taken my trucks in National Guard convoys for the convenience of having a personal vehicle during annual training. Sure, the Deuce or CUCV looks a little out of place being as they now have FMTV's and HMMWV's but there was a time that they blended right in. They still sorta do, it's just...
I've got the same issue. I'll check my trunion bearing tightness tomorrow. I read in the TM that you support the mount, ensure that you've greased it, and tighten the inner nut to 75 ft lbs, back off 1/4 turn, install lock washer and outer nut, tighten that one to 150 ft lbs and you should be...
Send you to school with an apple and you eat the teacher.
5th gear and the transfer in netrual. Pry the jackshaft around with a small bar.
Sir, Thanks for the response. In the next sentence I said you could snake a wrench through a U Joint, I should have clarified that I'd have the transfer...
Well that's neat. I knew they were doing this to Cougar MRAP's but had no clue they were doing this to HMMWV's. It's based on the suspension components of the MTVR truck and is also a factory type set-up on the M-ATV MRAP's.
I've participated with the PGR in 1 Funeral Procession for a young LCPL from my hometown of Leesburg, GA. These guys were from what I could tell all about supporting the family and ensuring the event went off without any outside interference. If you look around their website, they provide...
Had the exact same issue in an M818 I picked up for someone. If I snatched it up quickly, it'd engage high range. If I pulled up gently, it'd feel as if it was in position but it wouldn't engage. Quick adjustment of the threaded rod and issue was solved.
