Gents, I mailed an electronic copy on CD of the MK 48 TM's to a mod on here. If they decide that they are allowed to post them, they will. Give it a few days, hopefully they rule that they can post them.
Mine had good numbers marked when I got it. If I repaint, I'll put them back. My first encounter with a Deuce was C-4, the supply truck of 1-64 Armor during our invasion into Iraq. I would use those numbers but that truck was desert tan and I prefer a woodland camo truck. I did install a C...
A little late but very interesting book katahdin!!! My truck never weeped oil from the front head until I pushed her hard by towing some 5 tons. Perhaps the Multi us just not suited for towing heavier loads. It seems to have subsided for now as it only tows a M105.
it's an Allison unit that was up to the Military Specs and the Wrecker Variant has the exact same trans and it was designed to at minimum pull another M936 behind it. It's got a good trans in it. The A2's have over 100 pounds of torque over the NHC250 powered trucks and the trans is not a weak...
If you need more power, turn the fuel up. Install a pyro to ensure you don't melt it. Mine runs stronger with a C turbo on a LDT. I used to argue against the crowd that suggests that the turbo was to clean up the exhaust of these motors. In time, I understood that the LDS's have other...
I'd get another set of 14's for it if you're going to keep it stock. I pulled a 23,000 pound truck (M818) behind a M936A2 and it had power to spare!! The 6CTA motor can get a cheap tune up and pull the 16's and I'd likely go that route if it was my truck. I just don't have one in my backyard...
I mostly run them on low beam. When the oncoming traffic tries to bright light me and I bright light them, they concede the point alot quicker than if I was in anything else around here!!!
Taken a few days ago on 11 September. My Deuce is chasing my m1028. My LED's are the truck lite's with the 5 upper and 5 lower LED's and this is on low beam!!!
I'll chime in on the lighter truck pulling the heavier truck comments. I towed a few 5 tons with my Deuce. Air hoses are a must, Do Not tie off the steering wheel on a 5 ton. Otherwise, things went pretty good. I've not towed a M900 series behind my deuce but the M800's are a hand full...

Next step would be to pull the cover off the side of the IP and ensure the fuel cutoff rod is not sticking. Many threads to read about that issue. I don't have a picture but I'm sure someone will come along that does.
My deuce was hard to stop when I first got it. Ask Atomic, he drove it for my one time while it had the issue. I removed the J-pipe that feeds the airpack, squirted some oil in there, removed the plug on the back of the air pack and squirted oil in there. Now it stops with about as much...
Dave, If I can afford to fuel a Deuce 180 miles, buy enough beer to drink like a fool and food, I'm sure I can easily find a $20 to hand you if you can wait until the rally to collect it!!! That could go for either idea, JP and Ferro could use it for fuel or Swiss could use it towards the...
first filter requires loosening the alternator and moving it out of the way. Then you turn the big bolt on the top of the filter housing counter clockwise until you see the filter can turning. Then you wedge the wrench between the center bolt and the inner fender, climb down and rotate the...
Can't wait to make the trip. I've got to unblouse my deuce (lose the cargo cover), make an airline connection in the J pipe for the airpack to activate and hook behind somebody's godawful rendition of a guntruck. I can't wait! All kidding aside, we should have a blast. Anyone towed a Deuce...
Always curious about differences between LDT's and LDS's. I've turned my pump up my LDT, it blows black smoke when you grab a higher gear or when you stomp the throttle but it clears up. That should be plenty of fuel and the truck runs great. Is the advance curve in the governor different on...
Westech,
I'm referring to injectors melting on home station trucks (Ga National Guard) running Diesel from the local fuel stations, some with less than 5,000 miles and not many hours of idling time. I've done quite a few injectors, I've even made my own puller by welding a U bolt to a slide...
Ok, I'm back in the game. I thought I was sidelined earlier today as my wife backed into something and damaged the bumper cover on her SUV. Turns out the plastic can be pushed back out and save for a few scratches, it looks fine. I was extremely angry just a few hours ago thinking my very...
It could be done, however it's going to be some work. It's an electronic diesel and it melts injector tips quite frequently. These motors are in the FMTV's and MRAP Cougar, M-ATV variants. I personally hate this motor for more reasons than the injectors but others mileage may vary.
