Glad to hear it ! The TM is a rare one I own. It has all the "air" components for the deuce like the air compressors and relays and air-pacs.
I posted the rebuild information for the air-pacs here at Steel soldiers. It is in the TM section.
You have your lines mixed up. Use this diagram. It is for the "long style" but the fitting locations are the same.
I also decided to post this picture of the "short style" showing the correct way to connect the lines.
You say you've had this same problem since you got the truck correct ? Then I would think you need to check the free movement of the fuel rod assembly. Remember fuel if allowed to sit for long periods of time will end up becoming a nasty mess of tars and other junk. There is fuel behind this...
It has more to do with the "age" of the seals. They where using "Viton" seals in Allison's back in 1978. I know as I rebuilt them then. Though "Nitrile" is the most common material. Any oil seal will age, especially in such a harsh environment as a automatic transmission . They become hard and...
The "spin-on" conversion is one of the best mods you can do for a Deuce ! I'm also talking about the engine oil too. Makes life so much easier and much less messy.
That is funny ! I had a similar experience with a Female manager at the transit dept. I said I needed to make a "head call" . She "assumed" I was saying something else and called me into the office about it. I said I just needed to go to the bathroom, and in the Marines that is how you say it. I...
The wear on the bottom of the "button" sounds normal, so just reuse it. Make sure the concave part goes "up" to the pump rod and not "down" to the piston.
That's why I said to "detune" the pump. The highest common denominator is gasoline, meaning it has the "lowest" BTU's available out of the four fuels. The FDC will "detune" the pump to the gasoline level of energy.
That is correct. You can compensate for the differences in fuel by using your right lower appendage (ie: your foot) .
The reason the FDC was installed was to keep the same "feel" or power curve to the engine so any driver could just jump in and go. That way no damage would be done to the engine...
I'm sorry Tracer. I didn't see that you posted until today ! I used the "Magnapoxy" sold by "Monstaliner" .
I just applied the paint with a brush and roller. Came out pretty nice I think.
I did mine with "Monsterliner" last year. I just mixed it in the gallon can and used a roller and brush to spread it on.

That's why I bought land way outside the city. I couldn't stand to have someone tell me what color to paint my house ! Or that my yard didn't meet the current standards ! Like my Uncle used to say " If I can't take a piss off my front porch without bothering the neighbors then I'm too close to...
Agreed. If money is an issue at this time, then just buy a decent 24 volt stand-alone pump. It will have no problem drawing fuel up the 24" or so and then can easily pressurize the lines. Then you have the time to save up the funds for a proper in-tank fuel pump while still using your truck.
Going to look new with the new spring seat and passenger seat covers.
I totally lined the inside on my cab with "Herculiner" several years ago now. It still looks great ! Took two gallons though.
