So are you up on all the new little screaming Honda's running 0W20 oils ? Our new little CRV runs that oil and I'm wondering what the bearing clearances are like.
How long have you been with the dealerships ? I could only handle it for one year then left. I found a good shop to park my tool box...
Are you talking about my old CUCV or the new truck ? Both are 4x4 diesels or where. I sold the engine out of my CUCV. Got $500.00 for it. Put a Chevy 383 Hi-torque in it's place.
My new truck has the 6.6 DuraMax with a Six speed Allison transmission. The transfer-case is shifted on the dash...
Grizzly makes a good product. Though any "Locker" style differential can be hard on components. Do you drive this truck on the road a lot ? Or is it a "off-road" fun toy ? If so then go ahead and get the locker for the rear and put the ARB up front. Whatever you do, do not install a welded...
Actually the "Yarn" type filter is an excellent fuel filter ! Much better then the "pleated" style. More surface area and stronger. They cost more to make too, that is why they where replaced with the pleated style. Just a side note. You cannot beat "Gimpyrobb's" prices on the filters. Really.
I'm just asking so don't get your panties in a bunch, but you say "in your experience" . Are you a mechanic ? It's always good to find another mechanic here.
If I remember correctly, my CUCV was a M1028 . The data plate was removed years ago during my conversion. I had most of the parts stored in my container, but last year we had to move it so I sent over 7 tons of metal to the recycle plant. Almost all the spare parts from the CUCV went. I did keep...
I forgot to mention about that picture of my 1984 CUCV. I bought that from the government back in 1992. Paid $5000.00 for a truck with just 24,000 original miles on it. I then spent the next ten years converting it to a civilian truck. At the time I just wanted a nice 1 ton dually which I...
Now those look really nice ! Was it a hard conversion ? At this time I'm spending most of my free time trying to get the deuce ready for my great expedition up north. Now with the new truck there is no urgency to fix up the old 1984 anymore.
I'm still keeping it. My son says he has first "dibs"...
Great article ! This guy is saying what I've been saying for years now. Older engines need ZDDP additives because of government intervention due to vehicle emissions. Period. Since no oil company makes the proper oil for our military vehicle anymore you must add a good ZDDP additive. Those who...
I should have looked for seats for it years ago I guess. I just never got around to making a serious search of it. Also I never saw any that would just drop in. I didn't want to have to try and "adapt" some crazy "Mustang" or other weird seats that fit the angle and all that. Just give me a...
