Really Gerhard you need to research this. There are extra long splined drivelines that will compensate for any articulation. Just look at what the boys are doing over at "Pirates 4X4" sometime.
Also the Rockwell input is not moving all that radically compared to the outer wheels. It is staying...
It's still a work in progress. The next biggy is the fuel tank, and that's going to cost a "pretty" penny ! There is a fuel tank manufacturing company in Seattle I already talked with. They recommended "aluminum" for cost purposes, but I want stainless steel for the durability aspects. Plus I...
Installed two "DeeZee" tool boxes on the trailer today. They fit fine on the sides of the S250 shelter.
The next step is to install three tool boxes in the shelter itself. Then I can safely carry any tool I would need on my trip. After that comes the fuel tank in front with mountings for my...
Your in-tank fuel pump only puts out "8 to 12PSI " . A good pump will normally run at 10 PSI. The boost pump puts out at minimum 30 PSI at idle and over 60 PSI at 2000 RPM and above. That's why your fuel canisters are leaking so much when running. I don't think you have a bad in-tank fuel pump...
I haven't found any "Civilian" freezers that can handle the rough use of the "AcuTemp" . They are actually designed for rough use. Maybe some manufacture will design one for civilian use.
Actually Tom that's not true. You can put the "Brownie Box" after the transfer-case as long as you realize you cannot use the front axle in any overdrive gear. I've seen several people who have done it quite successfully including several here at Steel Soldiers. If you utilize the transfer-cases...
This is not what you want to see when you check your turbo.
This impeller (or what's left of one) was from a "Cummins" ISL engine that I was troubleshooting for "low power" .
Your correct about the play. Since Turbo's spin so fast they need to actually be riding on oil. That is the main reason we need to let the engine idle after running hard to allow the turbo time to spin down. Most people who have never rebuilt or even been into a turbo will think the bearings are...
I've seen several installations of a three speed overdrive in a deuce. Non will allow the front axle to be engaged, but as long as you remember that, I feel this is a good way to go.
Hey Tom.
I still cannot find a vender that sells the "loose cylindrical bearings" that fit into the main input gear. Who did you use ?
Also do you have any modified main shafts left ? I still need two for my projects.
Thanks Tom.
If you say the word hill while driving the Gasser, it will slow down 5 mph just on general principles.
Now that's funny ! Very true, but funny !
I also like driving the gasser deuce. It does feel better for some reason. Maybe it is the lighter front end.
