How about a 30 day listing. Then an automatic PM to the seller reminding him to either bump (renew) the Ad or remove it if it already sold out. An automatic reminder would help sellers that may not be keeping track of their listing all the time.
I did mine today. The pulley was broken off. i used a self tapping screw with a nylon bushing as a replacement pulley point. Unfortunately I cracked the plastic dash where it goes around the the steering column. Will do a custom repair on that spot.
"I think the solenoid is bad haven't bench tested yet. and sorry for the run on sentences kinda hard with phone " quote from him. I did not look closely at the starter. I just looked at it again and I see ware on the gear that contacts the flywheel. My opinion is that replacing it...
Get a new gear reduction starter from AMAZON.com. Got mine for $139 with free shipping and 2 year warranty. You will need a different bracket to support it. Should be less than $20 on Ebay. Info is available on my thread. goldneagle M1008 recovery and restoration thread.
Since the HMMWV tires are either 36" (old) or 37" (new) I should get the same speed as DH gets with his 37" tires.
BTW the manual said max speed with stock tires should be 55 MPH. That is why I drive 53 to 54 MPH on the Interstate. Here in LA and MS posted top speed is 70 MPH on the Interstates.
DH thanks for that info. What did you do to LIFT the truck in order to use the 37" tires?
Mine runs at 3400 RPM at 55 MPH on the NAV system with stock tires.
Would like to know what the maximum safe RPM for the M1008 with the 6.2 L Diesel engine. I installed a tachometer to track the RPM. I will need it once I update the tires to HMMWV tires and rims.
Now that I had the dash cover off I know what part I need to repair the shift indicator. I ordered a new one from a seller on Ebay. It arrived this weekend. Been busy with other tasks so I have not installed it yet. Just need to figure where the clip attaches to on the steering column.

I am glad you mentioned about some of the locations on the fuse block are 24 volt. I used my lighted tester to find live connection points in the fuse box. I could tell if they were 12 or 24 volt by the brightness of the tester. Found a 12 volt source that was only on when the ignition switch...
The housing on the tachometer is all plastic. There are 2 ground locations. One for the instrument light and one for the tach. The original installer of the voltmeter tapped into the ground feeding the voltmeter to also power the - ground of the lamp on the unit. There is a separate hot...
Today I decided to install the tachometer into the dash. I drilled a 2" hole next to the charging meter. I then used a Dremel tool to slightly enlarge it to allow the tachometer to fit. I then reconnected the tachometer temporarily to be able to fine tune the setting to approximately 650+/- 25...
I received the polyethylene sheets I ordered last week. I cut the 1/2" thick one to fit under the floor mat in my truck. I glued some thin heat/sound insulation to the back of it.
I did the same for the passenger side.
I used Acetone to clean the floor pan on the driver's side. I then...
