Call Memphis Equipment (901-774-0600)...ask for Roy in parts. They are pricey, but they have everything if you can't find it elsewhere. I used to have them on speed dial for those parts I could not find anywhere else. I can't remember what I was quoted, but I seem to remember something like...
We're talking about the 24V robo impact, right? If so, my experience has not been as good as some of those above. I had one and N3UKA (Dave) had one. I tried both. They both seemed to be in working order. However, they could not remove a lug nut from an M105 trailer! That is the only...
M16TY is right on the money with this regarding parts availability. Some parts are indeed A3 specific and they will cost you...and that's IF you can find them! For anyone who wants an M35A3, I strongly suggest talking to Terry McClanahan (on this list). I don't think there is anyone more...
I think that you will find that those who own them LOVE them and those who don't own them dislike them for whatever reasons, mainly because of the trucks' looks or the CTIS. There is no way to defend either aspect of the M35A3. I will add that the looks kind of grow on you after you own one...
Worst case scenario is you have to replace the motor. CUCV motors are around and the HMMWV motors are very plentiful. It is not a straight swap, though, with a HMMWV motor. The motor is the same, but some of the parts on the motor are not (e.g., manifolds, etc.). Hopefully, it won't come to...
I would also take a kit if anyone locates a bunch or if people do some type of group buy. I have heard they are very costly to the govt so I bet they will be expensive if someone finds them. As I said above, I'd rather have the kit than not.
One question: would adding larger tires affect...

Thanks, Chuck, for this great post. I was reading this thread and planning to post some of these same thoughts. The brakes on this truck were designed to stop heavy loads and there is no question that they are better than what is found on the older trucks. The trucks were designed to be...
I can check. I will PM you after I contact him. I am completely willing to share sources, but I want to make sure that he wants me to share his contact info. As I said, he is a big-time collector. I have seen other pics of his stuff and, seriously, most anything he owns is nicer than most of...
Nope. $35K USD. I just went back and re-read his original email to me (Price was £19995). At the time, it converted to $35K USD...now it is around $32K. Trust me, I would have bought the tank, except my wife was lobbying hard against it. In the end I agreed to buy an M1015A1 when she suggested...
I was offered the T72 pictured below for $35K USD about a year ago. It has/had 250km since a complete overhaul, has/had only five shells fired from its main weapon and the main weapon was still live (the tank is in the UK where this is legal...of course I know this would have had to be demilled...
Chris, I will second your last sentence..."borderline beyond repair." You deserve some serious credit for resurrecting what was really a residue truck, no offense intended.
Greg is right on the money. I had a hankering for a U1300 at one point. I priced them domestically at between $25K-30K (this was a few years back). I also priced them in Europe. By the time you did all the legwork and paid all the fees, you were looking at near the same money, but with more...
Joe, I have had M939A2 trucks with the slash in the VIN and some without...all what appear to be original data plates and most built in 1989 (regardless of slash or not), but a couple from the 90s. The slash was purposeful, but I am not sure why some VINs have them and some don't. I would just...
There is a "fix" for this problem. CUCVFAN knows what to do. He was able to fix the problem in his old 1987 M1028A2 that had the same charging system as the ambulance. I would prefer that he explain it to you, but there are a few wires that you swap around. It decreases the output of the...
