When I picked mine up about 2 years ago from Ft. Rucker, it had about 3/4 of a tank of diesel that had been in for who knows how long. Coming out the front gate, my buddy in chase asked me how the truck was running. I told him that it was running strong and fine. He informed me of all the...

Not sure on the headlights but I've had trouble out of my flasher unit before. A cannon plug with 3 wires goes into it and it sits on the driver's side inner fender. When my turn signals stopped working, that was the problem. I switched out the headlight switch, the turn signal switch and...
I've read the whole thread and am quite amazed that no curse words have been exchanged. To the OP, you won't find much love on this site from a "flipper" standpoint. Most of us on here have bought stuff at auction and are not willing to pay your "mark up" on something that you likely have no...
I'm a fan of GA registration as well. Heck, my 85 CUCV even qualified for a tag with just a bill of sale from the previous owner. I don't intend on selling my stuff so I get by with just a tag and insurance. Also, when you register one, be careful when they ask you for "fair valuation". If I...
M936A2 was not listed so I checked "other wreckers" No CTIS anymore but ABS and a good worktruck. My work computer doesn't have any pics saved on it but you can find them in the "Transportation Needs" section.
I register all of my trucks on a bill of sale or GL paperwork. I don't have titles on anything but a M105 trailer that came out of Florida and GL is required to provide the paperwork to get one in that state. I'm not much on selling green iron though so as long as I can get a tag and...
I may not know much and the fact that your flip flops are shown away from the pedals but your left hand is not filmed makes me think this. You're pulling the throttle cable on the dash. I've never heard of a multi jumping from idle to 1500 3 times in a row in less than 5 seconds unless it had...
If your M818 is road ready to go roughly 790 miles each way, I'll dance with ya. You'd be talking roughly 31.6 hours of straight driving with no stops which won't likely happen (figuring 50 mph.) You'd have to cover fuel, time and 2 hotel stops for that trip if you'd like me to do it. More...
Chuck,
I believe it came out in a stream of melted plastic. No more noise and the turbo spools freely. As stated, it did skip a few times while it was ingesting the plastic cap but it cleared up pretty quickly.
I'll try the candle wax trick today. Maybe I can just let it run until the exhaust manifold is hot and jump right in. Also, the feeding of the plastic was no intentional but it handled it just fine. Scared the S$#% out of me when it first went in.
I'm working on pulling the turbo on my truck and got as far as the bolts that hold it to the exhaust manifold. Well, I hooked the oil line back up thinking that a little heat should help. I cranked it up, took the top to the PB Blaster can and put it up to the intake for a little testing...
7.1 Tons off road, 15 tons on road and you're correct, it's commonly known as a 7 ton by the Marines. They are beast's and I'd trade my Deuce for one any day, even with the articulation ramp shortcomings!!!! I train people how to drive these trucks at the base here in Albany along with...
Ditto on MikeON's post, I thought that's how a Deuce was supposed to sound cold. I've driven many in the Guard and my personal truck sounds just like that and has been going strong for quite a while now.
Bruce,
You're likely fighting Oshkosh Equipment on those Wisconsin trucks. They're very proud of the stuff they sale when you look at the prices and most of those Wisconsin trucks don't look as though they need any work.
Gary Sifford is the dad!!! He paid for the recovery a little after the fact but the check cleared and we are square as a block. It just took some time. If they abandon the M109, I need one!!!! Let me know the price, it won't sit in the yard long!!!
special wrench needed (that you can make) to remove and retorque the driver's side head bolts under the injectors. Other than that, pretty straight forward job for an above average mechanic. Pull the intake, exhaust and turbo, drain coolant level down and the get with it!!!! I'll be doing...
Dean, I'm glad you've worked hard on you M817 and had some great progress on it. Maybe one day I'll own a 5 ton. As for now, I'm still working on these things for other folks. As for the primer being useful, it might be after a filter change if you open the valve by the air intake. For What...
