I forgot to mention that an oil change will cost you over $100.00 easily on a deuce. We haven't even begun to talk about all the gear oil the transmission, transfer-case and three differentials will need. Also a LMTV is a much newer truck then the deuce. So peoples comments about them will not...
Menaces Nemesis and I don't see "eye to eye" on much, but here we are in total agreement. This truck or any large Military truck should be looked at as a "Hobby" , nothing more. Yes there are those who regularly use their trucks for work and such, but they are in the minority. Having worked on...
What ? It causes rubber to deteriorate ? I did not know that. Now how am I going to get rid of those pesky, rotten little meecse !!!
At what percentage does it start to rot the rubber ? Maybe I can lower the machines "ozone" level ?
I've been off salt for years now, though I do eat a French Fry every now and then ;-) . Your right though, it is extremely difficult to get away from eating salt in todays world. Everything has added salt ! The wife took away my TV dinners a few years ago now. It took awhile, but I don't miss...
I tried taking the meds in the morning. It didn't seem to work as well. I take them now at 7:00 pm. I've been on the aspirin regimen for years now. Also taken at night.
OK, I need to come clean here. I was just paying my hospital bill for my Heart Attack in April. The truth is I need to get in a little better shape then I'm in right now before I attempt a 1400 mile round trip with no medical facilities for hundreds or even thousands of miles away. The cruise...
Silicone will do no harm to "Nitrile" seals. The problems arise from using old seals when the manufacturer used a brake fluid rebuild additive to keep the seals "fresh" . I've seen this many times before. To keep the seals from drying out there is a protective coating added from the factory...
What I did on my Deuce is install 3" stainless steel bolts along the frame. These bolts have large washers on them and the area on the frame is ground down to bare metal. Then I apply a good anti-corrosive/ dialectic compound to the metal and washer and then tighten the bolt down with a "Nylock"...
The trip to Europe was for the wife and son. At first I wasn't going to go, but they prevailed.
It was a once in a lifetime trip. I don't ever plan on another one ! For one the cost is insane. Two, Europe isn't all it's cracked up to be. They actually make you pay a Dollar just to piss ...
So the "ozone" keeps those little devils out ? I'll have to try that then. I've tried pretty much everything else to keep those evil critters out and nothing seems to last long short of heavy duty poisons. Which killed one of my cats last winter !
Well I'm closer to actually finishing my Fording Project. The machine shop finally finished my hose adapter that allows me to use a 1/2" NPT "coolant temperature sensor" to control the electric radiator fans.
I should cut the machine shop some slack though. This was just one of over a dozen...
Is that going to be your new home or shop site ? Having done that here to get ready for the shop, I have a pretty good idea how much you had to pay to get that done. Unless you did it yourself.
