Wow. What a difference it made - cleaning up the TC.
Looks like Willow was worn out. From all that helping :)
The parts look pretty good. I would look closely at the chain - making sure it wasn't stretched with the washer flying around inside.

You should be able to download a copy of Acrobat reader to get your Steel Soldiers Library working again. If you don't access the Web with it, you should be able to download the program - then copy it to your machine and install. Let me know if you run into trouble and maybe PM me an address...

Rotela 15-40 will do the job nicely.
Just regular "Dinosaur Oil" is perfectly fine.
You might also look in the TM Section (Technical Manuals) for the "LO" (Lube Order).

Yessir, wet testing means with a squirt of oil. Yeah, possible worn rings - but your problem doesn't really indicate that's the problem. Unless you tear it down and find a "crunch mark" on top of a piston on the side, I doubt it would be that close. Based on the readings you took earlier...

Lookin Good!
Yessir, hustling a set of 395's will work you just a bit. At my age, I do one then go take a sit down break - then go at it again - sometimes a day later.

Welcome to the Outfit!
Looking forward to you being here and posting pics of the mods you plan to do. You might consider changing the fluids in your gearboxes before you get on the road. And, considering that you are going to drive your M1079 to Alaska, you might should consider changing...
.
Well... That would suck. But at least you are on a path.
So, I guess you will be shopping for a replacement power plant if the reading comes back way below the other cylinders? Might even be worth looking at a @Mogman post about his installation of his "DuraVee"...
.
Nicely written description of and discovery of the problem!
I almost wonder if the "working plug" was a pipe thread and the "used shiny plug" was a straight thread... Glad you managed to find the problem.
.
Yes Sir! The DECELERATOR peddle will definitely make you feel strange... I remember having a D16 with a cable plow behind it, and "the new guy" wanted to drive it - just because he could. I was standing beside the seat after I set him up to drive forward. As he came to the end of the row...

Like @87cr250r said (just above) you can use any DOT brake fluid that you want to use. Naturally, DOT 3 is a lot less expensive. DOT 5 is "better" if you run through water. DOT 3 worked for YEARS
Just Don't mix them (DOT 3 and DOT 5)

It will be in the upload section briefly, then it will get moved into the Miscellaneous TM Section
