Mine did that, would just idle. Beating on the injection pump with the throttle applied fixed mine. Maybe you will have similar luck.

The TCM most definitely takes into consideration the throttle position via the TP (throttle position) sensor mounted to the injection pump. It sends a signal of 0.5 volts at closed throttle to 4.5 at wide open throttle. I would suggest you perform diagnostics. 2013 was a long time ago.

I guess it didn’t occur to you that that is not normal and your truck needs maintenance?

The return line tees and supplies both pump’s reservoirs. Sounds like all the fluid is being forced back into the hand pump reservoir. I would study the hydraulic schematic looking for possible culprits like stuck closed check valves.

I hope yours is newer or has a different drive. The 1150 I was running was a 90’s machine.

The 3-53 does not need electricity to run. I suspect there is corrosion between a battery cable and either a battery terminal or where the cable is attached to the chassis.

That would mean the battery switch is failed closed. I have never seen that.

Nothing goes “clunk” when you turn the battery switch? Sounds like the protective control box has a stuck on solenoid.

That is true. But if it came from the 1033 program and has demil parts like a turret, it has to go back to DLA. Sure if it’s a garden variety 998 that came from State Surplus, the 18 month rule applies then they can sell it. Most Law agencies get their Army toys from 1033.

These prices should tell you he wants the truck gone. Swapping the transmission is a 2 day job, say 16 hours at what $150 an hour shop rate? $2400 labor.
