PHILY, I recommend starting a new thread as your information request is sure to be missed by many people who may be able to help since it is buried in an unrelated thread. My suggestion...contact the usual suspects (PCTRANS, Ray Patton, etc.) and also contact car haulers. The latter might...
I have one. There is no boom on it. It is simply a chain fall (big pulley with chain running through it) with a hook on the top to attach to the spare tire handling davit. I was lucky to find mine as it was NOS. I know many of us are stuck on correctness (I have been guilty of this...
CHIEF_919, unfortunately, there are a lot of guys in the drive-em-out club on this site. I agree with you wholeheartedly...better to get them hauled. I always factor in shipping when determining if I can afford a truck. If the cost of shipping a truck puts it out of my range, then I don't...
The M939 series cabs are DEFINITELY not made of stainless steel. I have owned several and can attest to this, and you can look at the thread posted by Chris Stansbury (STEELSOLDIER) showing pictures of this cab floor.
I concur with JAKOB. I have never run either, but, from the tread alone, I would say that the Goodyear runs better on pavement and the Michelin runs better off-road. I would almost guarantee that I am correct, although this is only a guess.
The A3 trailers are much nicer than the A2 trailers...however, the landing leg sucks! It is really wimpy. The manual clearly states that you should not move the trailer with a load in it while rolling the landing leg. The landing leg on my trailer is bent and half of the trailers that I've...
The prices have gone up substantially since then. The cheapest price I remember was around $169. Now, they get around $208 delivered...I am going on memory...a simple call or check of their website will confirm this. I know they no longer sell tops as cheaply as $140.
Be careful as there is a sticker in the engine compartment that says that you should not pressure wash the motor. This means that it can't handle being submerged like what would happen in a true fording situation. I saw video of David Frankenhauser fording his M1009 in the NJ Pine Barrens. I...
I have bought more cab tops and cargo covers from GMA than I want to admit. However, I have done that when I could not find the same stuff elsewhere. If a cab top is vinyl and NOS, it is as good as the stuff that GMA sells. Now, you have a point about the tan...if he wants camo or green, tan...
No need to buy direct from the manufacturer if they are cheaper elsewhere for the same stuff.
By the way, LEX_ORDO...Go Islanders!!! (or are you a Rangers fan...or not a hockey fan at all?) I used to live in Bethpage.
POOR WHITE BOY is correct. Someone, including the military, could have converted the truck to a dually using non-military parts. CUCVFAN bought a dually M1028A3 without a bed that had a civilian axle in it (translation...no rear locker). PM Neil if you have questions about his truck as I don't...
