need quote from albany, ga to Gainesville, fl

Which lot number did you win? I may be able to help recover and store the truck while the shipping gets sorted out. I work at the base in Albany and live about 15 miles up the road in Leesburg. I can also preview and check it over for you if you're interested. Joseph

    Air brake question 2

Emergency air to release, Service Air to apply. I just answered this in your other post. Basically, Air Brake's have two chamber's, one hooked to the emergency line to release the spring's that apply the brakes in the instance of no air pressure, the other to apply the brakes once you press...

    Pics from Training!!!

:grd:We are installing the deep fording kits tomorrow, we'll be sure to replace the duckbill air cleaner housing drain, and our HMMWV's will get through that hole!!!!!!! No more messing around with hyrdostatic locked motor's or any of that trash. I expect to see HMMWV's doing what Uncle Sam...

Questions about insuring a 1987 AM General (Harder to get insured)

Mine's a 71' AM General and it's insured through GEICO for about $20 a month. I do have an annual mileage restriction of 3,000 miles a year. 3,000 miles in one year in the Deuce would be a stretch for me at 50 mph. and 10 mpg. for me!!! I enjoy it in moderation. OP, are you bringing you're...

What to look for when purchasing a fully restored 1969 M35A2

The truck description makes it seem like a very desirable deuce. I'd verify all of these components are installed and everything is in good working order. There are quite a few people out there who will try and flip these trucks for profit. Pretty easy to spot. Fresh Paint in an abnormal...

    Clamp thing next to stack

Mine has it also. I have the leg that goes in that clamp for the ring mount as well. If anybody needs it, it's free minus the shipping charge. I'll remove it and send it to you at once.

Heater install pics... Thanks Mr. Spurgeon!!!!

shootiniron, PM Sent. Notice the MCLB Albany Base decal on the bottom right of the driver's windshield in Pic #9. That process went smooth until they went to put the decal on the truck they had just registered for on base use!!! I drive it to work about once a week now.

    Deuce registry

Since getting my Deuce, the local police ride out here about 10 times more often. I don't really mind that since I live in a pretty rural area and I'm gone most of the day. We are a watched community and as cool as a registry sounds, there just seems to be too much focus on us already. We...

    Cost of a Refurb Deuce

You're in Ohio so try Roger's Surplus. He should be local and he can provide a well equipped truck for the right price. Really nice guy, I got a heater off of him recently and he made the transaction as trouble free as they come. You can see pics of the heater install on another thread in the...

Heater install pics... Thanks Mr. Spurgeon!!!!

I'm attaching a few pics of a hot water heater install on my Deuce. Made possible by Mr. Roger Spurgeon. This is one of the kits he has on Ebay currently. Pay no attention to any of the scrape marks in the paint on the heater, that was my fault, it arrived in perfect condition. Thanks Mr...

    In cab heater install, M35/M108

Why not just knock out the other knockout panel to the lower left of the heater output hose and route that to the underhood heater inlet? I'm in the process of installing a hot water heater right now and that seems to be an easier solution. I've read alot about installing heaters on this site...

    She won't start now.....

Filter's changed, you've verified the fuel shutoff cable is pushed in at the injector pump, good lift pump. Have you bled the fuel system? First make sure key on, engine off, that you have fuel coming out of the secondary fuel filters by loosening the bolt at the top of the housing. Once you...

    Pics from Training!!!

mahdey, Negative, this was localized training at a predetermined site. It's a hangout for the locals that like to run their machines hard and they thoroughly enjoyed seeing the troops run the HMMWV's through area's that they could not imagine making it through. Heck, we may even have some...

    Pics from Training!!!

Most actually made it through that hole but it was the deepest and if you entered too quickly, you'd stall the motor and literally be dead in the water. It's hard to teach the infantry troops that concept but they all should be pretty familiar with it after this weekend. It was just a...

    Does anyone double-clutch?

I've tried double clutching and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I use the clutch for all shifts. In mine, 4th will grind if you don't wait around a second to engage and 1st is hard to push out of if you run the rpm's up past about 2200. Not sure about 1st being hard to come out...

    Pics from Training!!!

NDT, Army Strong is all I can say. The trucks are designed to go rough places and we train to a standard. Sure, we're very fortunate that we have great tax payer funded equipment to put through their paces but overall, that truck that we thrashed this weekend is a PEI (Principal End Item)...

Possible to get a military hummer for 10 grand?

As best as I understand it, The HMMWV got killed by AM General lobbying Congress. Around the mid 90's, the Marine Corps cut some loose through DRMO. This bothered AM General as they were selling their Civilian H1 for alot of money and they didn't want the competition or the option of buyers...

    Pics from Training!!!

I actually had a great time even though we mired a truck. Twice, two different days and the same mud hole. I'm with a Forward Support Company and we were tasked to train some straight out of basic Infantry Troops on operating a HMMWV. This was actually day 2, on day 1 we stuck the HMMWV in the...

    Prioritize my PM?

JCKnife, I've watched you're posts on here and you're alot like me. You tend to overthink things. In fact, you mentioned that you're truck is not leaking anything, you've changed the oil and checked you're trans, transfer and diffs. You also mentioned you have good brakes. I've also been...
