I would suggest a M931. They are going cheap right now and are easy to drive. You don't need to bob the M931 its already short as a M35. You can get the 5th wheel removed and put a M105 bed on it easily. Easy equals cheap.
OK here are all the fan belt numbers for the M939 series trucks: (On some you can actually get away with one size larger or smaller in length)
ALTERNATOR= NAPA 25 7480 (need 2)
POWER STEERING= NAPA 25 9480 (need 2)
WATER PUMP= NAPA 25 22425 (need 1)
FAN BELT= NAPA 25 28492 (need 2)

I had a break in the weather this afternoon so I decided to do some work on the truck. I noticed some rain had leaked from the top joint in the hardtop. When I looked closer i notice that there were 2 nuts missing from the last 2 bolts by the driver's door. I installed 2 replacement nuts and...
I think you are not going to please everybody no matter which date you choose! I recommend you just go with April 20, 2013 for the LA Rally and plan accordingly. Hopefully most of the people that were going to attend will make it on that date. Should be a fun time if it stays dry that...
The fluids and tool came out of the Deuce tool box. I am storing the Brake Fluid for the Deuce. I need to add fluid and install the Remote Fluid Reservoir on my Deuce soon. It is funny to have that in the picture though! As far as the locking fuel tank design -go for it! Glad my ideas are...
Same doors as the M35 and M818 series trucks. I'm pretty sure the glass can be replaced. You can also find door glass on SS from parted trucks or major MV truck dealers like Saturn Surplus.
No offense taken. You were right to say it was not required to stop siphoning - but we have heard from members that had their fuel contaminated in the past. Besides it was fun to fabricate.
Yes there is a strainer basket in there! It will not stop someone from dumping contaminants into the tank. A lot of things we do to these truck are not necessary but optional. We do them anyway! The parts I used were free or almost free so why not....
Today the rain stopped for a bit so I decided to work on the fuel cap lock door. Took out the welder and angle grinder. Cleaned up the areas that were to be welded. Welded the hinges in and then the lock catch. I leaned up the welds and burned paint. I primed the areas and let it dry...
I think it is a Freightliner. I buy used air-ride seats from SEMIPARTSMAN on Ebay. They sell used truck parts on Ebay. I paid $225 shipped for the seat.
Here is the Spare Tire lock install:
I also fabricated a lockable cover to go over the fuel cap. This is mostly to keep someone from contaminating the fuel supply. The fixed strainer is enough to keep people from siphoning the fuel, but my cover keeps anyone from tampering with the fuel! I...

Here is the air line feed for the driver's air-ride seat:
Here are pictures inside the cab with the air-ride seat:
