No, your not dumb. In fact your pretty smart to look for the problem before it became a "REALLY" big problem. A lot of people would just let it slid thinking it was nothing.
One of my biggest "bugaboos" is electrical fires. Having had a big one in my past. So I'm always smelling the vehicle...
Yes a wife can help slow the virus, but only for so long. Eventually the green fever gets so bad that something gives and then all H*LL breaks loose ! That's when I bought the first deuce !
Yes. I can see the "green virus" has infected you. Mine started with the purchase of a MEP-003. Soon they started multiplying. Now I have 8 generator units, three deuces, a CUCV, and a M105 trailer.
So far science has not found a cure for the "green virus" . So hang on. It is going to be a wild...
This is not true. I debunked this "Urban" myth a few years ago. Here is a paper I just had on my desk from Delco-Remy. It clearly says to "solder" the connections. I posted a paper from "NASA" saying how to properly solder the connections for all the space vehicle's. Now if something is going to...
No kidding !
It was funny. For some reason most of the other mechanics did not like doing "King-Pin" jobs. Seems they where more then happy to let me do them all. It did get kind of annoying when they started leaving that "portable" king-pin press by my tool box though.
Do you have any weight in the truck ? Or do you drive empty all the time ? You don't have any good hills where you live, so I would get something heavy to put in the bed and drive it pretty hard for a day or two. These engines need to have a good load on them to make them happy. If they don't...
OK, that was funny !
I loved doing King-Pin work though. I even own two large truck king-pin press's . At work we had this 100 ton portable press. It took two men and a boy to move, but it was considered a "portable" unit. I did so many king-pin jobs they used to keep the bushing reamer by my...
I copied the design from "The Stig" here. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?134679-M-series-flasher-relay-civvy-conversion-how-to/page2
Unlike some others I believe in giving credit where credit is due.
I made up a spare turn signal flasher unit with a replaceable relay. This way I'm not at the mercy of the "surplus dealers" and their high priced replacements.
Well I'm one step closer to my "Alaskan Adventure" . I finished the 12 volt towing box for my travel trailer. Now my deuce can tow any 12 volt trailer. Just plug it in and go. I have both the "7 pin Flat (RV) style" and "7 pin round (commercial) style" plugs. Plus the original 24 volt connector...
