Lance: I can tell you from experience...with regard to your dispute, they will do nothing other than allow you to back out of your bid. How's that for a fair resolution?!?! Hey GL, if I wanted to back out, I wouldn't have bid! Instead, I bid a great deal of hard-earned money and got screwed...
They basically have a monopoly on surplus sales and this is what happens when a company has a monopoly. They have no reason to compete for the customers because the customers come to them. No competition = no reason to change.
RE: Re: weight of m817 dump
My reco...avoid the winch trucks...they bring more money. While they look better in my opinion, most times you will not need a winch.
If you know anyone who is a lawyer, have them draft a letter threatening litigation IF you are in the "right." I was told to be thankful that I was not getting hit with a default fee BEFORE...that's right BEFORE...the 14-business-day deadline even came. The only reason I was delayed in getting...
RE: Re: RE: Slave Cables
My new slave cables are all in plastic bags with everything separately wrapped inside. They did not come in boxes...at least mine did not. TEDG: What are you asking on a set? I have two new (never even been opened), but I am always looking for more stuff to piss the...
I would not say I am "bitter." I would say I have been "educated" through experience. Let's just say that I would never give GL another penny IF, and this is a big "if," there were another place to buy trucks. They suck...plain and simple.
My friend, read the other posts about GL. They are just about the only game in town so we have to deal with them. However, there is A LOT that you should be aware of when dealing with this company.
You did well. Short of the lights, the newer trailers and the older trailers are about the same. There are a few other differences, like the front and rear sling points, but nothing major. Youg have a beautiful trailer! Congrats!
Here is a pic of another Air Force deuce...
The truck was up at Lakehurst and was really clean. I wanted it, but it went for more than I wanted to spend given it was missing the transmission.
Daniel: It is actually an older trailer with a replacement bed. That is why the bed looks so nice. I have one from a previous sale. You can also tell it is an older trailer because of the small lights...not the later style composite lights. It is a beautiful trailer.
MADSAM: You probably already know this, but the whiffle tree should attach to the front lifting shackles and the towbar attaches to the front axle with the chain clamps. Looks like fun, though!
